Should we Start a STATS PHD ONLY thread?

Good thread! Can you edit it so that ONLY admissions are posted? (no questions etc)

We can also use this format:

Anyone know the admits visit date at Washington statistics?

March 7, according to their website.

To the people who were admitted to Washington PhD Stats, could you guys post your profiles?

I see two high Math GRE scores, that's impressive. Congrats!

I would assume being admitted to Washington implies a very good shot at the other top ranked schools right? Washington is top tier, correct?

Has anybody heard from University of Iowa biostatistics? I see on the results page there is one MS acceptance still waiting on funding. http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/index.php?q=iowa+biostatistics&t=a&o=

I applied to the MS biostatistics program at Iowa. Should I assume I didn't get in if I haven't heard anything yet?

MS applications are sometimes evaluated only after most PhD offers have been made.

Just heard from OSU stats phd, no word on funding in email. Hopefully that's to follow!

same like you! hope for good news together...  Will OSU be your first choice?

CMU Statistics' email confirmation when you apply says:

"All applicants will receive notification of their status by email no later than January 30. We realize that waiting is very difficult. However, we request that you do not call or email our offices to inquire about the status of your application."

Does this mean everyone will receive admission/rejection by the end of this month? How come on the results page I see some results in Feb and March last year and the year previous? EVERYONE receiving result by end of this month seems insanely unlikely...

I have the same confusion. And the online system has been closed. Do you know any other ways to check the status of materials?

Just got an interview call from University of Texas, MD Anderson (Biostatistics PhD)! Fingers crossed

Do you know whether or not the PhD program at TAMU has interview for applicants? haven't heard from them yet...

Where did you see the scores? Is it that no Math GRE score means no admission to UW? :o

Me too! Even though you're the competition! I think it reasonable that if we are nominated for fellowships, then if we are not successful, then other forms of funding like TA are likely.

OSU is a great fit for me and I would probably take it over Michigan, Alberta and Cornell. If I got into CMU or Chicago though I would probably take them, but of course those schools are long-shots. Not sure about Toronto or Wisconsin-Madison if I got in there.

What about you?

That's not true, but the scores can be seen for any result with a red diamond.

Anyone who got into Washington want to share their profiles?

Yeah, it would be a great result for me if i can finally go to OSU. But my dream school is uw (although extraordinarily difficult...)

I applied for CMU, but now I think maybe its focus on machine learning is not a good fit on me.

So far I've gotten admitted to NC State (a week ago, I thought that was very early) and waitlisted to UW Biostat. That's all I've heard back from. Guess there's a bit more waiting to do...

Does anybody know how many PhD students uw stat will give admission for 2014 Fall? ...

In recent years around 30-50, you can nose around some data by department here: http://www.grad.washington.edu/about/statistics/admissions/

(ignore the Statistics: Advanced Methods and Data Analysis line in the reports for the past couple of years, that's for the fee-based master's program)
