castiel007 Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Looks like Stanford is doing it again - offering MS to rejected PhD candidates I feel all the MS candidates should have applied into their PhD program instead. Does anyone here has any idea about the MS intake last year? (i.e. for students who applied only to masters program only and NOT PhD). I cant see ny such admits on gradcafe.

I think this year would be different, the pattern suggests they will notify MSc only tomorrow; so if still no words , next week are for the rejections. I myself expect and accept defeat by now as I haven't heard them back yet for my PhD and today I have seen many MSc admits who aimed PhD (

I admit, it doesn't look good...but we can't give up just yet!
zaphyr Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 In the results section somebody has posted an admit to MSc only track
zaphyr Posted February 14, 2014 Author Posted February 14, 2014 How and when they notify somebody if wait -listed?
TheMostPowerfulApplicant Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Dont give up hope guys!!! You never know anything can happen! Also there are still other great places other than Stanford, it is never a one place fits all!! Good luck
Tom_Stark Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 Anyone got wait listed for MS? How did they notify you? Please share your information. thx. zaphyr 1
TheMostPowerfulApplicant Posted February 14, 2014 Posted February 14, 2014 bleh looks like MS only ppl are starting to get admitted. Does Stanford send that out all at once, or over a few days??
Tom_Stark Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 S has begun to send rejections. I think it is time for me to stop hoping for some sort of miracle....
TheMostPowerfulApplicant Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Right when I saw this, I got my rejection . It was a good run everyone, but it wasn't meant to be :'(
dvfire Posted February 15, 2014 Posted February 15, 2014 Right when I saw this, I got my rejection . It was a good run everyone, but it wasn't meant to be :'( I feel you...I got my rejection around now also Applied to PhD but not even consider for MS. Oh well hope for the best for other schools.
zaphyr Posted February 15, 2014 Author Posted February 15, 2014 How come they could wrap everything up in only couple of days? Last years it took weeks to finish it up. Anybody could comment on?
zaphyr Posted February 16, 2014 Author Posted February 16, 2014 Just out of curiosity, haven't seen any wait-listed in the results so far; did Stanford EE send out all the results or there are still some pending decisions?
sherryys Posted February 18, 2014 Posted February 18, 2014 Someone posted a false rejection...in fact it was a PHD acceptance. And he corrected it by calling the office. Anyone else has similiar situations?

Anyone else has similiar situations? Was it real or just for kidding? The stats were such a low that I couldn't believe. Many people got rejected with far higher stats ((
