goingtobeslp13
What do you guys know about the NYU program? How long does it take, what are the professors like, is there a sense of community, etc.? Thanks!

Sunny1234
I don't know, but I'm curious too. I've been accepted and would love to go but it's so expensive. Their website says that financial aid award information is given out in late March. I don't really know anything about their community or professors, though, besides what's on their website. monsterslp
I'm accepted as well! I currently do research there and everyone is very friendly and seemingly happy with their selection. Obviously NYC makes it a great place to be and train; plenty of opportunity. PS Professors are very helpful and care about their students.
Speechstudent
Does NYU have a strong focus on reading and analyzing of journal articles.....I know people in other programs who say that they are required to read hundreds of articles and critically analyze them which is overwhelming and takes away from time put towards hands on clinical therapy plan preparation. plmgis
Does anyone know what a sample course of study might look like at NYU? I can't seem to find anything on their page (just course listings and a general curriculum listing, but nothing that breaks down by semester) and they keep emphasizing that they don't advise prospective/accepted applicants until after they enroll. It says that the program generally takes from 5 to 8 semesters to complete (counting summers as semesters, I believe) and I am trying to figure out exactly how that would look for me since time = $$$ (and a lot of $$$ in NYU's case). Basically, I am out-of-field and have some but not all prerequisites complete. It says that most grad level courses require prereqs, but I would hate to waste a whole semester taking just one prerequisite class because I don't qualify for any grad levels but have already taken the other prereqs offered that semester. Ahhh post-acceptance is almost as stressful as the application process insofar as now the reality of tuition prices is actually starting to hit me. Any help is much appreciated! goingtobeslp13
Does anyone have any idea when our financial aid info will be available? I tried to check for it today but it said it wasn't available yet. I've heard financial aid decisions from several other schools already.
Sunny1234
Does anyone have any idea when our financial aid info will be available? I tried to check for it today but it said it wasn't available yet. I've heard financial aid decisions from several other schools already. I called the financial aid office yesterday, and they said that financial aid information may be out in a week or so.
