Below is the response I received from the school this morning:

 

 

 

The admissions committee sent out their first "wave" of acceptances and denials a couple of weeks ago. If you weren't contacted yet, that means you are likely to be part of the second "wave." The answers that are sent to the second wave largely depend on the feedback we receive from the first. Unfortunately, the college is on spring break right now and it won't be over until next Wednesday. The admissions committee is not available during the break, therefore, this slows our process of contacting our applicants. 

 

We truly appreciate your patience and apologize for the delay.

I think I am going to get a delayed denial 

I asked if they were still interviewing...I am still waiting for an answer

Sadly, it will be a while. 

You told me about 100 people got interviews. Do you recall if they mentioned more will be interviewed?

I just don't understand why they would delay sending out denials...

They didn't say if more would be interviewed but I think they have interviewed more based on what people posted on the results board. Honestly I'm not sure. But I don't see why they would keep your application in review with no intention of interviewing you. I wish I understood how programs did their admission process! Haha

Exactly, if they have no intentions of interviewing an applicant just give their name to admissions so portal can be changed.

Maybe they figure if a lot of applicants they accept decline them then they'll interview more?

You are correct. They told me they will interview more people if many from first wave decline their admission. 

Here's to hoping many decline. I am praying those accepted got better offers or were accepted to other CUNYs

Fingers crossed that we'll be hearing from Brooklyn soon since the April 15th deadline has passed! It's the only school I have left to hear from!

I have a 3.8 undergrad GPA in which my major was psych. I am currently in a post-bacc program with a 3.9 GPA. My GRE scores were mediocre but combined were over 300 (which I heard is a cut-off point for many programs). I received an interview for Brooklyn College but have yet to hear if I have been accepted, wait listed, or rejected. Best of luck to you!!

My GPA for SLP is 3.53. My overall GPA is 3.38. However,my GPA for my BA which I did over 10 years ago is 3.06. My GRE scores are poor, 145Q 146V 4.0 AW. 

However, I do have a MS and that GPA is 3.75.

I am getting a real sicking feeling that my application is sitting somewhere untouched.   
I just do not understand...

Arcanelady27 - I would hope that they weren't just keeping your application for no reason! I would think that they would be keeping it with a thought of possibly interviewing you! Hopefully you will be notified soon of the department's decision.

Misshopeful, did you have an interview? 

I have not had an interview and I have not been denied. I received a letter in the mail from them but it was about their link to their site not being crypted and the possible leak of my SSN. I thought it was my denial letter.

No unfortunately no interview here either…I also received that letter though. Without interview I assume we will get rejected…but if so what is taking so long for rejection? I have two friends that had interviews there that haven't heard yet either…I really don't understand what the hold up is…especially since we didn't interview I'm doubting theres much of a chance but who knows…I would LOVE to go there…my friend emailed them and they said they plan on sending out notifications in the next 2-3 weeks…thats SUCH a long time to wait! Without interview I'm honestly not too hopeful though...

Hey arcanelady27, I'm sorry to hear about Brooklyn college. Don't forget what you told me, that this is not the end of your road. This is the worst day but there will be better for you. The way I see it, getting rejected is a humbling experience and it only makes you hungrier for the finish line. If you want it, you'll get it. You've had a roller coaster ride with the CUNYs this application season. My offer is still on the table with GRE studying, message me if you want to meet up and study. If not, good luck with your future endeavors. I'll be rooting for you!!!
