I would be freaking out too lol! I'm sure you have enough time. Once you get the mail they should give you a time limit. Are you waiting on other schools as well or have you made your decision?

Congratulations btw!

Thanks AMetallo! UofT was my first choice, so I'm going to accept it! I'm still waiting on all of the other schools though (York, Laurier)...

Good luck to you!!! It's still very early in the game so I have hope for everyone :-)

Congratulations to everyone who got accepted to York! That is very exciting. Anyone else who applied to U of T have any changes on their ROSI? I am sort of now thinking that they do send out invites on Fridays. Anyone else?

Firstly, congrats to all those accepted at York. :)

I am starting to think the same thing about UofT, I have no changes on ROSI, my sgs is still "under review" and my "myfile" at York is still listed as "no decision yet" which I will take as a sign there is still hope because last year my York status brutally changed to "unsuccessful" after I refreshed it an hour later!  :P

Also, for anyone wondering, I just got my acceptance package from U of T in the mail. It seems I also got a $4000 scholarship, which is super awesome!

Thanks! It is dated (and postmarked, which I look at since I used to work at the post office lol) March 13, the same day ROSI changed. My guess would be it went out at the end of the day after pickups, sat in a mailbox until Monday, and then actually went out in the mail Monday. So since I live in Toronto, 1-2 days is about standard.

That being said, if they sent out rejection letters we should be receiving them by Friday (I'm in Montreal)?

I was just wondering how long you have to accept the offer, and if it says you have to maintain an average of some sort in your final year of undergrad (should that be the case or a generic thing they put for all applications)?

I would be very surprised if they have sent out any rejection letters at all yet, to be honest. Generally people are accepted, then waitlisted, then rejected, unless they don't meet the minimum requirements. That's why I didn't hear anything from York until almost a month after people were already accepted last year. In terms of mailing times, from my vast postal knowledge, haha, if, hypothetically, a rejection letter were sent out on Friday afternoon/evening, it should get to Montreal Thursday or Friday, poooossibly Monday.

I have 4 weeks from the date of the letter (March 13) to accept and I have until June 1 to pay a $150 deposit. I actually graduated back in October, so I don't have any conditional requirements. Generally they want you to maintain a minimum GPA (I would guess somewhere around a B or B+) and give them proof you graduated, though.

Congratulations, again! I have a question, though.. and it may be silly - Did you apply for any type of scholarship through UofT or was it just an act of generosity and praise for your credentials!?

I'm so anxious to receive my package! (I'm in the Hamilton/Burlington area so I'm not sure when that will be)

I didn't apply for anything through U of T, just CGS which gets released April 1 regardless of when decisions are made. From what I heard last year, they do give a scholarship to the top GPAs, so it may have just been based purely off grades, since that was really my strong suit in my application haha. You should be getting your package any day now!

Lets all agree that anyone who has applied to U of T (2 year) please check your Rosi on Friday and post on Friday afternoon whether you heard anything or not. That way we can try and figure this thing out as to when they are accepting people.

Sound good??

Sounds good. I will be checking everyday cause I am clearly obsessing over it lol!! So I will definitely let everyone know when I hear/or see anything updated!

Gah I kind of hope it's not Friday!! I work Fridays 2-6 and then rosi shuts down from 6-10, and I work at a coffee shop so I can't actually be checking much. Maybe I'll go to the bathroom around 5 and check from there, though the bathroom is in the back of the building and has terrible internet. :s But yes, if I can check in the afternoon I will and will try and keep you all updated. Trying not to get my hopes up for Friday though; we have no confirmation that's the case but wouldn't it be great if it was! If more people get accepted this Friday I'll be more inclined to believe it, which would be nice since I won't have to stress all next week again. (Won't have to... probably still will.)

One thing I'm actually kind of hopeful about is that those of you who get into U of T will turn down offers at other places (like Lakehead) which may increase my chances if I don't get into U of T. Silver linings...?

I will definitely be checking my ROSI every day, probably multiple times a day, until I get a letter in the mail. This is feeling like the slowest week ever :(

Wait listed at York today!

did you get notified via email or on myfile? you should be super proud and good luck!!!

Hi everyone

So, I admittedly had dismissed York as being utterly impossible (given the odds) and have focussed all my reading and research into U of T.
I've gone through the York website and will be going through everything more in depth (course descriptions, etc) as I make a decision.

I know most of you are on the rollercoaster of waiting right now, but I'm curious to know what the reputation of York is -- it's strengths and weaknesses -- and am wondering if any of you have an opinion on that? I haven't worked in social services in Toronto so I don't know what it's reputation is like and I don't know anyone who has done the program.

If anyone has insight or opinions to add I would be very grateful! Thanks!!

Yes! I'd love to know the same

Yesterday I received an acceptance to York... for the advanced standing program. I had to email them and tell them that they had something mixed up on their end because I applied for the two year program. They gave me the funding and everything. How do you screw up so badly? Around here we call that getting "York'd". Get used to it all those who attend there. I've been here forever and it's a common occurrence.

Also, I just came across this post again (in my search for info on York) and am now scared all over again that my email was a mistake!!

I emailed back with some follow-up questions so fingers crossed I get a reply (which would hopefully mean it's real. right?)
