2222222 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Hi all, This is a thread for those who are waiting for spots to free up before making their decisions. What schools are you on the waitlist for? What's your backup plan? chewgumdrawlines 1
chewgumdrawlines Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 Yay! Thank you for making this thread :)
tcornel5 Posted March 27, 2015 Posted March 27, 2015 I've been put on the waitlist for Cornell. It feels like I went through the anxiety of waiting for an answer, only to get a second serving. REALLY hoping someone chooses another school, so I can move up from the list.
2222222 Posted March 27, 2015 Author Posted March 27, 2015 Looks like Milkyways just gave up her Cornell spot! Milkyways 1
tcornel5 Posted March 28, 2015 Posted March 28, 2015 I noticed! Looks like I'll be calling on Monday to see what I can find out~!
josemfa Posted April 5, 2015 Posted April 5, 2015 Got waitlisted to UConn and UMass Amherst. Got an email last week that all 5 spots offered at UConn were accepted, so no go for me this year. Hoping for a miracle with UMass.
kerning Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Two weeks ago I got an e-mail from VCU's VCD program that I'm number two on their waitlist, and they will let me know if I'm accepted or not on April 6. So today is the day! This is so stressful, I refresh my inbox like crazy!!! VCU is at top on my list, so I hope I will get accepted. #fingerscrossed
chewgumdrawlines Posted April 6, 2015 Posted April 6, 2015 Ah! That's so stressful! Good luck I hope you get in!
LittleBlueHouse Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 For people who have all their info on the table, any hunch on when people accept offers formally? I know for those of us waiting on alternate spots we're waiting to see what plays out. But: otherwise? Do people formally commit once they've made their mental decision, or do they (who know where they are going already) take their sweet time until the 15th? I want to believe in an altruistic world where people aren't sitting on spots they know they aren't taking. Thoughts? chewgumdrawlines 1
Derpderpderp Posted April 7, 2015 Posted April 7, 2015 Saic registration starts the 13th, and you have to put down your deposit 48 hours prior to registration (even though their deadline is technically the 15th).so im giving risd two more days. Not sure if other schools are structured similarly :/ chewgumdrawlines 1
dryheat Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 Is anyone giving up their spot at USC? I did late last week.
LittleBlueHouse Posted April 10, 2015 Posted April 10, 2015 (edited) I'm going a little insane, I think. The person who got the offer I'm in line for 1) got their offer way back in late February, and 2) visited the program a week ago during a scheduled event for those with offers. That's a lot of time to think about it, but yet they haven't accepted at this point. What does it all mean?! Arrrrrgh. Edited April 10, 2015 by LittleBlueHouse chewgumdrawlines 1
2222222 Posted April 13, 2015 Author Posted April 13, 2015 Has anyone moved off of their waitlists yet? Or do these spots usually open up after April 15?
yayaaaaa Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 i think it depends. Last week I was moved off of two waitlists
Maya31 Posted April 13, 2015 Posted April 13, 2015 Just declined MICA - Hoffberger's offer, so I assume a spot will be opening up.

I want to believe in an altruistic world where people aren't sitting on spots they know they aren't taking. Thoughts? I declined programs as soon as I made my decision (towards the end of last week). I actually have until May 1 for all programs except one, but figured I'd just rip off the band-aid and stop wavering in my decision. Not sure if that's common, but that's what I did.
2222222 Posted April 25, 2015 Author Posted April 25, 2015 is anyone else still on waitlist? Yes! Who are you waiting on? Does anyone know if Columbia has closed their waitlist yet?
