Since the bio thread should be focused on molecular, pathological, etc. I started this thread for neuroscience people to talk about results. So far it looks like only a couple people have posted on the survey so not many invites have been sent out, as you'd expect. Did anyone else apply already? Are there more deadlines in the future for anywhere?

I applied to mostly neuroscience programs (5 out of 6 of my applications). I haven't heard back yet, but I know that some of the places I applied are reviewing applications this week.

UConn and UMass have started sending invites out but those are general umbrella programs where you pick your concentration later.

A fair number of neuro people have been posting in the other thread, so I'm not sure this one's necessary.

I did, however, apply to neuro programs.

Does anyone know roughly how admissions boards perceive Canadian schools like U of Toronto or McGill?

McGill has a really strong neuro undergrad program but I'm unsure where it might stand internationally

Any one knows when Northwestern Neuro program sends out invitations?

I don't know for sure, but according to previous year's trends it's around mid-December!

Agreed.

I applied to Neuro and CMB/Umbrella programs.
Though, I'm happy for this to be the neurotic thread where people keep asking if people received interview e-mails or not, or heard back about stuff, in order to keep the other thread cleaner ;)

There are dozens of us. DOZENS! My people will be oppressed and marginalized no more.

Also this forum has had neuro threads in the past. It keeps everything less cluttered and easier to search.

I like the fact that we have our own neuro thread actually.. will be easier to check here. I'm so anxious about hearing back!

I've heard that one of my top choice received a record number of applications this year...

Which is great for science...but I just hope it doesn't take longer to hear back about interviews....

I'll join. I'm applying to two (three if you count Caltech CNS) Neuro programs, UCSF and MIT.

Side note: why is the engineering forum so deserted compared to the life sciences... :(

Two schools that I know of actually, WashU and Emory's neuro programs.

Welp. I don't think I spent enough time on my WashU application, but I need to get in there to have a shot at Janelia.

It's probably also more difficult/a pain in the butt, but I'm sure there are ways to apply to be a visiting student at Janelia even if you end up somewhere other than one of their partner schools.
