So not at hope is lost yet!

So far there hasn't been any international students (that I know of), but this past cohort I believe 2 of the 5 were from UTSC. There's hope of course!
FacelessMage Posted January 11, 2016 Posted January 11, 2016 I know it's still early yet, but it's so discouraging knowing that over half the schools I've applied to have sent out interview invites and I've received nothing. It feels like all the work I've put into improving my application over the last year means nothing.

You're absolutely right, it's still early yet - you may be surprised The Canadian schools, at least, are only beginning to reach out to potential students. Stay positive! I also applied to UTSC and was wondering if the invite to the SKYPE interview was sent by your POI or by the graduate admissions. Asking since I received an interview invite at SFU sent by the grad admissions (they sent out an mass invite). If the UTSC invite was sent by the POI it still gives me hope. Thanks!

It was sent by the admin person. I am told that the POI will get in touch with me to work out the date for the interview. Someone got a similar invite a day or two ago so they may not be doing them all at once. So I wouldnt fully lose hope! Anhedonia 1

This is apparently for February 1st, they're doing an interview day or a visit day or something. Expand I got my invite for Skype interview from POI there just last night. Interview is for Monday. I am not sure that they will submit as early as next Tuesday but I could be wrong.

Expand Their website though says that all interview invites will be sent out by January 15. It's very confusing...

I don't mean they're submitting their picks for acceptances, I meant they're submitting a list of students they would like to interview to the department on Tuesday. Your POI may be one who isn't doing interviews on February 1st, so s/he wouldn't need to worry about that deadline.
