One poster politely asked that the list of names posted be removed, which was the right thing to do. Although it did seem that only first names were listed, there were names that were unique, not your usual common names.

I was a bit surprised that someone would post names from an email correspondence but am happy to see that the list was removed. Other's privacy should not be infringed upon without permission, especially on a public forum.

My email was without the string of names, and my name does NOT appear in the above list as well.

I got a slightly different letter stating I am also awarded a first year fellowship.

Will you please share the name of the first year fellowship (e.g., sponsor-name of the fellowship, or an MIT internal fellowship)? And was any dollar amount specified? My letter did not have any mention of fellowship.

Didn't receive any indication as to the name/amount of the fellowship. I was instructed to wait for the admission packet for additional info.

I still haven't heard anything from MIT so I assume that this is an unofficial rejection. Sigh.

So I'm guessing it's safe to assume that if we haven't heard back from them, it's probably in the rejection pile? I called the admissions office earlier this week and they said they were still working on them but I'm not sure how valid that is...

I was wait listed, I just found out by email today. I had an interview with a POI on 1st February and I wasn't sure how it went. I guess this explains it. He was in the CSAIL systems area so they might have been slower to finalise admissions.

0 publications, 1x patent. I've been at Google for 5.5 years working on systems and networks in R&D.

Crushed.
