Mimi H. Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 Hi everyone! I thought I would start this year's thread. Good luck everyone!
rm123 Posted February 4, 2017 Posted February 4, 2017 On this forum, there were reports of transcript requests on 1/26: http://academicjobs.wikia.com/wiki/Dissertation_Fellowships_2017-2018#SSRC_-_IDRF Did anyone receive a transcript request after that date, or were they all sent on the same day? Mimi H. 1
jmu Posted February 5, 2017 Posted February 5, 2017 No transcript request here. I know in the past it has not been clear who gets transcript requests and who doesn't, just that people who do have definitely made it past the first round. Mimi H. 1
mdct123 Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 I am under the impression that the top scores don't receive transcript requests and get an award no matter what. Those who have lesser scores get transcript requests. But I may be wrong--this process is very opaque. This waiting is killing me... Another two months. Mimi H. 1
Nrvn Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Thanks for getting this started Mimi H! Not heard about the transcripts and such. Should we be getting some news sometime within this month? Mimi H. 1
darshanatvm Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 I have heard from the last year's applicants that the transcript requests are sent during the first week of February. I haven't got one.
AKACaz Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 (edited) I received my rejection via snailmail yesterday/last night (the 6th). I live in New Jersey. Best of luck to everyone else! Edited February 7, 2017 by AKACaz
Nrvn Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 Just got mine via snail-mail. Time stamped 4 Feb. I am from the west coast.
Nrvn Posted February 7, 2017 Posted February 7, 2017 So there might still be hope if you haven't got the mail. It seems the acceptance might be staggered through the week. Its a relief to know either ways. Good luck everyone!
Mimi H. Posted February 8, 2017 Author Posted February 8, 2017 It's official! I'm out. I'm rooting for all of you out there in the game! darshanatvm 1
TMP Posted February 8, 2017 Posted February 8, 2017 Were any of you part of the DPDF program? darshanatvm 1
TMP Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 DPDF alum.... and I got rejected on this first round. With 947 applications, I'm betting it's a little easier to land a tenure track job interview!
ELI111 Posted February 15, 2017 Posted February 15, 2017 I have a question! So asking for transcripts is all they meant by "All other applicants will be contacted by the program, via email or USPS, about their status in February 2017. "? Nothing else is going to be made clear in Feb? Will rejections continue in the whole Feb or only in the few early days?

Thanks!
TMP Posted February 26, 2017 Posted February 26, 2017 I got the rejection letter that stated the number of application. There are about 80 fellowships... so do the math. It's like getting into Harvard.
NBZ Posted March 26, 2017 Posted March 26, 2017 If previous years are any indication, you should expect to hear from them around April 13th. sammyboy89 1
aanmona Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 Hi. Did any of you hear back from SSRC IDRF? Still waiting...

goalbb Posted April 10, 2017 Posted April 10, 2017 Received acceptance via email - at around about 1:50pm east coast time (4/10)
cmalta Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Those of you who received a rejection from the final round in April: have you gotten reviewers' comments yet?
