Should I contact the director?

Recommended Posts

Last year when I applied I was only applying to 3 year programs because I hadn't been a speech major.

I applied to a certain school not realizing they didn't do 3 year programs (my mistake). I ended up being waitlisted and then accepted. After emailing and talking on the phone with the director of the program (who I had interviewed with and she said I had interviewed beautifully), she insisted it wouldn't be possible to finish the rest of prereqs, she insisted I wait and apply the next year.

im applying to that school again this year, should I email the director to let her know I really want to go to this school so I am again or just apply and not contact her?

YES!!!

Thanks! I just don't know what to say. She never like told me to tell her I was applying again or anything but I feel like it's helpful

Okay, I emailed her, she seems happy to have received an email from me so thanks for the enthusiastic yes! That definitely made me want to do it for sure.

I'm proud of you! You definitely put yourself out there.

Wow that's great! I would've agreed wholeheartedly! I would have even responded to the last email exchange too. Anywho, I hope everything works out!  ("Interviewed beautifully" - man would I feel GREAT if a director of a program told me that!)

Yeah, I doubt it is going to do anything, but I got to thank her for her advice she gave a year ago so hopefully I at least made her day a little bit better.

And thanks, I honestly think I just prepped incredibly hard for the interview and then I ended up with questions I didn't have a hard time with whatsoever simply due to luck. I also always try to come up with the best questions possible for interviews so I can impress them with what I am asking if that is even possible.

It may/may not do anything but at least your name will have a good possibility of standing out!

I agree ^^ It puts your name on his/ her radar that you follow through with what you're told and that you actually care.

Thanks to both of you! You made me feel better about putting myself out there :) can't say there was any negative to me doing this!
