I'm a little surprised by the $ amount of fees that graduate programs charge when you accept their offer.  One of my schools was $250!  Is that normal? What do other schools charge?

Some schools call it an admission fee, or a lab fee, or a fee to save your place....I'm confused. What are other schools charging?

U of the Pacific requires $500, NAU requires $300. But these fees go towards your tuition. Are all of yours the same?

SUNY Plattsburgh is $250 too! Kind of surprised it isn't more. Happy because if I pay the deposit but change my mind and go elsewhere, $250 isn't THAT much to lose (in comparison to other schools). Mine goes right towards my tuition in the fall.

I don't think any schools I had offers from mentioned a deposit to save a spot. If they had one I guess it wasn't in the offer and maybe would've been mentioned upon actual acceptance.

University of the Pacific charges $500 to hold your spot. It is applied to your tuition if you attend in the Fall. The downside is that you are out $500 if you are waitlisted at another desirable program, get a late offer and decide to attend there. :/

NYMC and NYU both have $500 deposits to hold your seat. I know NYMC credits that towards your first semester tuition. Not sure about NYU. NYMC does rolling admissions and you could lose your spot (even if you were accepted) if the class fills up before you put down your deposit. I don't think that's all that common though.

Mine was $500. Lol.

On the bright side it did go towards my first tuition payment.
