JenMR Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Huh. Not sure who mine would be. Is it based on discipline or geographic location?
Ludwig von Dracula Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 At SSHRC. Contact the person who's in charge of your file. The official responsible for my file was Michelle St.-Pierre. How did you find out who was in charge of your file?
hleong Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Its the person who sent you the confirmation of application receipt email back in February.
JenMR Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 Thanks hleong! I completely forgot about that email. Yikes! I'll see if I can get any info!
alau Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 I'm an MA student who just received confirmation from SSHRC. To all the MA applicants who haven't received your letters yet, you can try emailing your proram officer and ask them to send you a scanned copy of your decision letter. That's how I heard back so soon. Good luck everyone! When I called they said they couldn't give me any info or "they would lose their job"! I just don't get it.
JenMR Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 alau, you're braver than me. I was hesitant to even email. I keep thinking that if I harass them, they'll burn my application and tell me they never received anything from me!
alau Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 When I called they said they couldn't give me any info or "they would lose their job"! I just don't get it. Oh man! I just called and spoke to the person responsible for my file.. he whispered "you shouldn't worry"... he did not refuse categorically to send me an electronic version, but lets say that implicitly he did not feel comfortable... even if he whispered the obvious. So I got funded OH DEE FREEKIN DAH! C'est l'heure de la bière ! I'll keep you up about the letter.

Compoe Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 C'est l'heure de la bière ! Yeah, some Dieu du Ciel would really hit the spot right now, especially in this heat... But I have to keep working. Such is life. It may not be official yet, but congratulations!

Terri Posted May 25, 2010 Posted May 25, 2010 (edited) Hi- I'm in Montreal, but did not get the letter in the mail today. Grad studies office said: "SSHRC is having a problem and the release of the information will be delayed. They did not mention the new anticipated announcement date." ??? I'll just wait for the mail tomorrow... Congrats to all those who have heard. Edited May 25, 2010 by Terri

Compoe Posted May 26, 2010 Posted May 26, 2010 (edited) Congrats to all who got good news today! I had time for one celebratory beer - at home - before getting back to work. Hopefully a better celebration will happen in the next few days once this orchestra piece is done. It was sort of anticlimactic to get the news after all this waiting, but a huge relief nonetheless.
