Any one else apply? Did you meet the December 10th early deadline for the Goldberg Scholarship?

I applied before the December 10th deadline. Still have not heard anything back though. This is the time when I am seriously stressed out! LOL.... They say, however, that decisions may take up to 12 weeks, so I would not worry.

In researching their notification tables, as well as forums from last year, I suspect letters will not be sent until March. Personally, I am dreading that scenario...

Yea - I think notification mid-march and then financial aid info a bit later on. I'm really crossing my fingers for a scholarship - NYC is expensive! However, I love the program and don't know what i'd do if I didn't get in.

I completely agree! NYU has one of the best programs in the nation. When I visited the school in November while on a college trip I loved the atmosphere. I found that the professors I talked with were generally quite interested in prospective student's questions/concerns. I would be heartbroken if I did not get in... However, I would also be heartbroken if I gained admission without funding. That is even worse considering the school is telling you to go there, and you are so close, but just don't have the will to spend fifty grand a year....

HAHAHA...you're in EXACTLY the same boat I am. I visited Wagner in November and loved it. I applied before the Dec 10 deadline to be considered for the Bohnett scholarship and now spend my days waiting. So far I guess no decisions have been announced. I also applied to Baruch, not as a fallback school but an equal. I like both programs and would be happy with either.

Keeping fingers crossed

Every day I awake with expectations of an email, letter, or something of that nature... and every night i have expectations that the next day will yield the same letter or email I failed to receive that day. It's a strange way of thinking, however, I am in a position in which tension is killing me!

yep, that's me too. and to hear about other people receiving their notices only increases the tension. in a way, it is comforting to know that others are dealing with these feelings. just like the people from last year who are all now attending school.

HOUBMA - I visited as well and was equally impressed - I love NYC and the puck building was inspiring. I've really enjoyed my interaction with the students and staff I've met. I haven't had a chance to meet any faculty but I've read a lot about them on the web.

I agree that it would be even worse to be accepted with no funding- I'm curious to know how many people actually applied by Dec. 10th - because I feel like all of a sudden that deadline was on the website when I looked in November but I hadn't seen/noticed it before that. Perhaps there was a smaller group of people who applied for those awards.

Pea - I didn't even know about Baruch; I'm going to take a look at their program as well. I know there are plenty of other reputable MPA programs but I'm set on living in NYC.

Hi guys! Good to hear there is more people applying, I finished my application the last day, the 15th of January. Btw, I’m an international student, I don’t know if that can be positive or not for my chances.

Lets keep in touch, so we known when they start notifying.

Crossed fingers! rolleyes.gif

Bubal-- Being an international student can never hurt your chances (unless you do poorly on your TOEFL, if applicable). Schools of this nature are always looking for ways to diversify their student population. Therefore, I feel as though being an international student gives you an edge in some respect. Good luck!

I applied before Dec 10 to have the best chance at some funding. I am not sure if I will qualify but at least I'm being considered. I didnt know about Baruch until I saw their booth at the Idealist.org grad fair in San Francisco last fall. But the recruiter was a pretty dynamic guy and encouraged me to visit NYC and the school. I added Wagner and Hunter to my to-see list and went ahead with it. They have a rolling admission process, btw

Ya I applied for Wagner as well, by the December deadline in the desperate hope for some funding, because I simply won't be able to attend without it even if I am lucky enough to get a place.

On the admissions forum, it sounds like Wagner masters applicants didn't find out until around mid March last year... (but of course, I always want to know my fate asap!!!)

It's good to read that those who have visited the school in person have positive impressions. I pretty much based my decision to apply from the Web, being an international student. I'd love to attend NYU and live in New York, just don't know how financially realistic that is...

I applied by the December 10th deadline as well. However I applied to the MUP program. I'm guessing, as many of you said, that decisions will come mid-March or even towards the end of the month. Did everyone see the thread about the mix-up Wagner had last year with admitting people who were supposed to be rejected or vice versa? Hopefully they have things straightened out for this year!

I also applied by the Jan deadline. Dual degree applicant with Stern. I love the Wagner program as well, but my heart's set on the double program. If I get into Wagner but not Stern, one of you all can totally have my spot.

I am hoping in the next couple of weeks the Wagner will start sending out their admissions offers... Is that a logical timetable?

I'm putting my money on March 15 - however I'm hoping it's before then!

Has anyone called the admissions office about this?

I emailed them and their representative told me they have been feverishly reviewing apps since December. Doesn't make sense to me, however, nothing makes sense anymore...

I spoke with an admissions rep that i met on my visit. He said they are shooting for mid march for anyone who applied by the Jan 7th deadline.

Good luck everyone!

Anyone that wasn't aware of the craziness that happened last year should check it out on the results search, haha. I just did. Left a lot of MPA and PhD applicants very angry. Apparently some sort of snafu with false acceptances? I really hope that doesn't happen again.
