G.Speech Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Hi All- Has anyone not received any decision from a school at all? I have 5 schools that I just haven't heard from. I assume waitlist or rejection, but I find it strange. Luckily I did receive some acceptances at other schools- but has anyone else experienced this?
Billy_Pilgrim Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 @G.Speech In my experience, this typically means you have been rejected. I'm in a different field, so maybe it doesn't apply, but when I applied to PhD programs last year, every program I never heard from rejected me. It seems pretty common for them to hold on to people just in case. However, you might contact the department. I've done this before and found it helpful! As long as you aren't demanding, people are usually pretty helpful. Good luck!
plume Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I never heard from one and I know they sent out rejections as well as waitlists and acceptances, so I am a little confused! Also, their portal says my application is "complete and ready for review," so I submitted everything. I would call any programs you are seriously interested in still!
hk65 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 Never heard from Salus, NYU online, or University of Louisiana-Monroe......
SLP1719 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I haven't heard anything from Sacred Heart or Iona. I didn't want to keep waiting and accepted the offer from my top choice.
speechietx Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I never heard from Texas Tech but I assume it's rejection since they do interviews and some have already been accepted
ElKel87 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I never heard from CUNY Hunter or CUNY Brooklyn. I know Hunter doesn't do waitlists (according to the woman I spoke to in the department) and I never interviewed at either so I assume rejections as well. I would like to know, though! I've already deposited at my top choice and declined my other two acceptances, but an acceptance at a CUNY with such cheap tuition might be enough to make me reconsider.
AlwaysaFalcon Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I never heard anything from Salus, West Chester, Midwestern University-Downers Grove, and Rocky Mountain University of Health Professions. It's fine though since I've made my decision but I agree pretty weird.
WannabSLP124 Posted April 18, 2017 Posted April 18, 2017 I haven't hear from 2 schools, but I know they do somewhat of a rolling admissions. Everyone who hasn't heard is on an unofficial waitlist. You can always call or email to get an update on the status of your application.
smoresnspanish Posted April 21, 2017 Posted April 21, 2017 I still haven't heard from Tennessee State, I know of others who haven't as well but my application decision says pending. Not sure what the holdup is but they were quite disorganized throughout the application process anyway.

AVG244 Posted April 22, 2017 Posted April 22, 2017 I still haven't heard from Florida Atlantic University. From what I hear, the department is under investigation and the whole admissions process was faulty this year. They calibrated a lot of students' scores and stats WRONG. Even if you are ultimately accepted here, I wouldn't go. Their program seems very disorganized and unfair. (Of course, don't go unless this is your only option. If so, then congratulations and good luck!)
hopefulSLP2be7 Posted June 2, 2017 Posted June 2, 2017 I know some people are still hearing from Salus if that helps anyone!
