Yeah sashmpp, it was your post I saw on colgconfidential. I checked my application but no decision yet. I did check out last years results and some of them came about the 27th feb

yea...i'm looking for some info on these schools!

anyone know of places to find rankings/ratings/reviews on MPA/MPP programs?

so much harder to find compared to mba & law programs...

Yes, congrats on your acceptance!

I see that last year the acceptances were spanned out from mid Feb to mid to late March so I'll refrain from having a full-on heart attack as of yet!

why don't u check gradcafe and search for the relevant posts. There are a lot of useful posts from applicants who were in the same predicament as you are now.

Did you apply to the DC track?

Posted

regular track...not D.C.

Congratulations, sashmpp. I also applied to MSPPM at CMU and am still waiting to hear from them. Do you care to share your background?

Posted

Hopefully, not much! Haven't heard back from CMU either.

When did everyone submit their application? My application was submitted pretty much at the deadline.

I got mine in the very last day. And had a little fiasco with one of my recommenders filling out their recommendation form, but opting out of doing the actual letter... And then getting the letter in on February 14th, which Heinz told me was received, added to the application, and the application is now "complete". (Though it was marked as so since January 10th since all the necessary materials are in).

So my take is... We don't even know whether we have no answers because we were put in the "maybe" pile, or perhaps they just have not reviewed it yet. I think my hope is that it was put in the "maybe" pile, and then the recommendation letter came while it was in the "maybe" pile, and hopefully it will let convince them to accept me :)

Good luck to you!

p.s. - I wonder if they have sent out any rejection letters.

Congrats to the individual who received an admit and scholarship today. Looks like decisions are just going to keep trickling out. My app still says complete and ready for review. Good luck to all. Hope there were no rejections yet.

I'm relieved yours says that too. I submitted my app a bit late and was worried it hadn't even been looked at yet.

Mine says the same thing "complete and ready for review," and I turned mine probably a week before the deadline. So hopefully good news is on the way for all of us!

I've heard the first round of admits should be going out week and through the next couple weeks or so. Stay tuned everyone!

I just got an e-mail today telling me to check the application website. I have been accepted into the MSPPM two-year Pittsburgh track.

1 down...6 to go.

i got an email informing me of admission today. i applied to the pitt/dc program, but am "considered a better fit" for the pitt program. still excellent news, especially since i applied 18 days late. phew.

Congrats cosmike! You had a pretty great day on the application front. Still waiting here... Rolling notification is so much more stressful than a single wave. Duke and CMU are giving me palpitations. blink.gif

Do you guys think anyone has been rejected yet by Heinz?

Maybe not officially but definitely in their files, IMO.

coakleym..

How do you know that there is a second wave for Duke and CMU...I haven't received a decision so far and so I'm beginning to take it for a reject..more so for Duke..I sure hope there is a second wave.

I don't basically.

But CMU admits have been trickling out since at least this thread started, seemingly never more than one or two per day, so I'm assuming we haven't even seen a wave for CMU yet. As for Duke, I called the Sanford office last week after all the acceptances went out, and they confirmed that some accepted students had not been notified and they were still processing records. Plus we haven't heard about any conditional admits or waitlisted applicants so there's still some stuff from Duke for sure. I'm actually more pessimistic than I'm letting on but I'm holding out hope for both programs.
