AnxiousApplicant18
Hi everyone, I was just wondering if someone could inform me of the day of the week most Ph.D. Interview days are on (if there is a consistent one). I'm guessing most are on Fridays but if anyone could provide some insight it would be really helpful because I'm trying to plan my work schedule for the new year. (Also if it helps I'm applying to School Psychology Ph.D. Programs). Thanks so much!
avflinsch
It would depend on the school / department / faculty availability / your availability, absolutely nothing consistent about it. It is just like making a Doctor's Appointment - which it sort of is Bayesian1701
TakeruK
Sometimes schools will be fairly consistent in their dates from year to year. So if you can find out some information about the specific schools you are applying to, then that might be more helpful. Maybe you know someone already there or one of your friends do? Another thing to keep in mind is that you might not get that much advance notice. Maybe 2-3 weeks or maybe less. The Results Survey hosted by TheGradCafe might provide some useful dates/info as well. For each application, search for your school and your program name to see what kind of timelines occurred in previous years: http://www.thegradcafe.com/survey/ (You can also get to the Results survey by clicking "Results" at the top of any page)
DrGirl
For Clinical Psych, most of my interview days were on Fridays, although I did have one that provided a Monday option as well. Also in terms of planning, my earliest one was late January and the latest one was mid-Feb, though I've known of some schools having interviews into March. Most tend to be on the same couple of weekends in February. Hope this helps!
