speechpathy Posted January 3, 2018 Posted January 3, 2018 Hey everyone! I'm finishing up with my CSDCAS application, but had a few quick questions about the transcript entry. First of all, if I have a class that's listed on my transcript as withdrew (but not due to failing, just because I decided I didn't want to take the class), what would I list it as under grade? I wrote W (withdrew), which is what is written on the transcript. I tried looking it up but only saw WF, which would mean withdrawn fail, which I obviously don't want to put. Also, would I write this as 0.00 credits? Since I didn't earn anything? Also, I do have a course that I failed, which I included. But I retook the course and ended up getting an A. I saw somewhere on the CSDCAS faqs that the first course that I failed I should indicate as 0.00 under credits. Is that right? It also says I need to record the second time around as a "repeat" but I don't see that as an option. How do I indicate it's a repeated course? Thanks for all of your help! I'm also not against calling CSDCAS and seeing what they say, but I just thought if anyone knew the answers on here it would be easier
PuuOnToast Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 You can mark repeat courses after you are finished entering classes when you finalize transcripts. I'm not sure about the W. I was able to but NC for no credit. Did you try and it didn't accept W?

But if you were able to type NC, then I guess W would be fine as well. On the NC class, did you mark it as 0.00 for credit?
BeachySpeechy Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Fill it out exactly how it looks on your transcripts. If it says “W” then mark it as “W”. I had multiple transcripts and some schools marked it as “W” 0.0 credits attempted but other schools marked it as “W” 3.0 credits attempted even though they were all the same “W” that shouldn’t affect my GPA. They told me to mark it “W” with the # of credits shown on each transcripts because the first step in verifying is that what you have entered matches exactly what you enter on CSDCAS. If it doesn’t match it will be returned to you to fix (processing time increases). Once they verify it matches, they will go in and calculate the gpa based on each individual transcript’s rules so in the end, none of the “W”s on my transcripts affected my GPA.

Enter exactly as it is on the transcript
BeachySpeechy Posted January 4, 2018 Posted January 4, 2018 Just an FYI if you don’t already know, CSDCAS calculates all your classes into your gpa. A repeated course won’t replace the failed grade. Your GPA will included the failed grade and repeated grade as if they were two different classes. Sucks.
