  1. I actually found something as well! It's a cute little apartment, but the lease doesn't start until July.
  2. Hi! Thanks so much for your response. That was all very helpful information - especially the good neighborhoods and the bit about the bike fenders! I was wondering if you knew of a best time to look for apartments? Is there a certain month when a lot of places go up for rent? I'm having trouble finding a studio apartment for June/July, but I'm wondering if I'm looking too early.
  3. I've been looking for housing as well, and haven't found many great options. It seems that as soon as something good shows up on craigslist, it's gone - and you're right most of them are awful. I also have a dog, and most of them aren't as pet friendly as I'd hoped. I'm hoping to find something within the next month, and move to Eugene in June / July? Have you found an apt/house yet?
  4. Hi all, Like @The Ister said, I'd also love to get some updated info about Eugene from anyone who has lived there recently. In addition to their questions (which were very good questions - I've also been wondering about the artistic/literary community), I was wondering if anyone could tell me about LGBT life in Eugene? Anything is probably better than where I live, but just thought I'd ask. Other questions - are there easily-accessible beaches within an hour or so driving distance? What are some good neighborhoods to look for housing in (I plan to live alone)? What's the music scene like? And finally, is there an area of downtown Eugene that's walkable if you live close by? I walk everywhere now, and I'm reluctant to give that up! Thanks in advance.
  5. Hi, I haven't really posted much on here, but I'm so excited! I got into my top choice, University of Oregon. No first year funding, but a tuition waiver & TA job the second year! Although I received a fully funded offer elsewhere, Oregon really feels like a better fit for me (not to mention that it's higher in rank than the other school), so I hope I can figure something out that can help with first year tuition. I know most people (and possibly common sense, haha) would advise that I go with the fully funded offer, but I feel so strongly about UO, I'm wondering if going into a little debt might be worth it... what do you all think?
  6. I think that one is for Oregon State! I applied at the University of Oregon.
  7. Should I just assume that if I haven't heard from UO about my MA application by now, I've either been waitlisted or rejected? I just feel that if they wanted me in the program they would've contacted me by now.... it's so late in March.. but I don't know, maybe I'm overthinking it because I love the program so much! I haven't seen anyone else on here who applied for an MA at Oregon - anyone out there?
  8. I've been wondering the same thing... I'm waiting on one more school for an MA, and I think if I don't hear from them by the Monday of the last week in March (the 27th) I'm going to call the office and ask if they've made decisions yet. I wasn't planning on mentioning any of my offers.
  9. Has anyone heard anything from the University of Oregon? I applied for an MA. I know the PhDs already got their decisions - congratulations to anyone who got in!
