UNICEF NETI Program Notifications?

Hey! yesterday my status changed from "Application under review" to "Application Outcome" (but does not say anything about being unsuccessful or successful), I have no idea of what that means and I'm not sure my references have been contacted ... I have kind of given up by now.

Just wanted to thank you all for keeping this forum alive, it has been a great source of stress relief and really helpful in waiting it out!

erpayo, you can check in the system if the referees have been contacted. when they contact referees, on the reference page there is a yellow bar (all above) indicating that referees have been contacted and no changes in reference data can be made anymore. in addition, next to each referee's name you would see marked 'requested' or 'completed', depending on reference submission status.

Just got an email- was successful in getting in to the talent pool for P3 Social Policy. Absolutely delighted and so relieved to finally get a response!

For info sharing, the email says that I am now in the talent pool for 3 years. This doesn't guarantee me a NETI post but any offices interested in my profile will now be able to contact me about them. If I get a NETI placement, induction will be in June in NYC. They said the NETI team will contact me to inquire about my specific interests and share further information related to the next steps.

Good luck everyone! Really hoping for some more success stories on here.

Hey BTS, check out the employment page, a post for social policy specialist p3 in Myanmar just came up.   Perhaps they'll offer this to someone in the talent pool :)

Got an e-mail saying I am in the pool. No different from what others have reported, will be contacted with further details. Does anyone know if it up to us to apply to positions or they automatically look at the pool?

In my talent group days (says the old man) they told me that I should apply to positions I'm interested in and write to the person in HR who notified me of my talent group placement to let them know I was applying.  They also old me that there was no guarantee that a country office would chose from the talent group.

That said, I've also been told that this year the process is going to be slightly different, because there are new recruitment rules aimed at increasing country offices' use of the talent groups. So I'd say, if you've been notified you're in a talent group and see a position at the appropriate level you'd be interested in, let HR know.   It can't hurt.

Tropicalguy congrats!! That is great news!!

So yes, on my call they explained there are two routes to job placement once in a pool. 1) Country offices proactively look on the central recruitment database where we are flagged as candidates who have been through this rigorous process and can contact us directly 2) You apply for jobs you see that you like the look of quoting that you are in a talent pool and letting your HR person know.

They told me on the call they are aiming to have everyone placed by June, but of course can't confirm this as will depend on HR needs at the time. They market us heavily to offices to try to meet this goal.

Congratulations, Tropicalguy! one more step succesfully passed;)

I still dont have an answer and my online status is still 'under review'. But since they contacted my referees after the interview, I still have hopes...

Valery, have they already proposed you a specific placement? it seems that you have been among the first notified about the talent pool placement in our job family and I was wondering how fast they are in finding matching jobs for the selected candidates.

Hi SG. My case is the same as yours. We interviewed for specific positions because those offices were interested in our profiles. So for you and me we already know our prospective duty stations. Good luck

Hi Carrotflowers.  I am was wondering... Have you already received the offer letter and posting instructions.  And if yes, how was it delivered?

Hey Val.   Yes, I got an email saying to log on to the recruitment website to get my terms of employment (salary and entitlements) and letter of appointment.  I had to complete a form (update of personal details) , and then had to print,  sign, and scan the offer of appointment  letter, and email it back. Then you receive onboarding instructions. Easy piece-y.

Wow wow and wow...seems very cool. I am guessing you are soon receiving some cash on your account as well before you leave to your duty station. lol. I am really happy for you carrotflowers, and I have been inspired too. As for me I am still waiting to be contacted and I am investing time in work here just to manage the anxiety. Journey of my life. Best wishes.

Congrats Carrotflowers!

A few Qs from me if you don't mind:

Did you interview with your country office or they just placed you and you accepted?

When will you be moving to your country?

For myself, I'm in something of a dilemma. I just signed a contract for a new job (a really good one!) and I start middle of April. I'd either really like a firm NETI offer before then so I can consider not starting the new job at all or alternatively start in 6 months or so's time so that I at least get some time in the new role. What do you all think?! How fast or slow will they be?! I know it's impossible to tell but just views would be useful.

Hey bts. I'm going to my posting next month.

I did have the final interview with the country office.   I don't know if I was the only candidate they interviewed, but the interview itself was pretty technical (mine was, to be honest, a lot more technical and harder than the NETI interview).  I guess it can vary depending on the country office, though.

If I were you I'd just go on with the job offer you accepted, the unicef process can take (yet) more time.   If a firm unicef offer does materialize, I'm sure your employer will understand and unicef will let you give fair notice.

If you don't mind telling, where were you placed? Is it a regional office, country office? What country?

Also carrotflowers, in the end you moved up to P3? Or is this the P2 position you were talking about a while ago?

Hi TG .  It's a country office, but I'd rather keep the location under wraps for now. And yes still the P2 position.
