  5. I feel like not having publications used to be the norm--however, almost everyone I know who has gotten admitted into grad school recently (psych programs: social and clinical PhD) has had manuscript(s) in progress or already published.
  6. OH yeah sorry I agree with everyone that it should only be things you've started writing. Didn't really fully read what you said just saw that you had somethings in the works. Althogh I think you could include projects where the data has been collected/analysized too.
  7. you should create a "manuscripts in progress" section
  8. Wondering if the person who was contacted by U Mich POI could PM me to tell me who the POI was!! Thanks!
  9. I didn't apply but I go to Wisconsin, or rather went to Wisconsin. I'm pretty sure they do interviews (I'm in social though btw). I remember grad students talking about a potential grad student staying at their house. Their whole application process happens a lot later than every where else though.
  10. oh shit mine too! Since I haven't gotten contacted by any faculty I don't think it matters
  11. NoplanB, congrats on getting contacted! Would you be able to PM me the POI who emailed you?
  12. Also wondering about these things....!
  13. I don't have this book but the reviews make it seem like an amazing introduction! http://www.amazon.com/Understanding-Regression-Analysis-Introductory-Quantitative/dp/0803927584
  14. I like this book a lot-- nice explanations, pretty basic overviews of concepts, very easy to approach. http://www.amazon.com/SPSS-Survival-Manual-guide-analysis/dp/0335242391/ref=cm_cr_pr_sims_t
