I hear ya. For me, the issue is that the program I am leaning toward is the one that guarantees funding for the shortest time (4 years guaranteed with 99% students receiving 5th year funding) versus the other two I am considering (if one converts from a wait list) which guarantee funding for 5 years with most students receiving 6th and even 7th year funding (in the case of Irvine).

Is anyone else still agonizing over their final decision?

I've heard a few stories of people being accepted on the 16th, 17th.

Ok, they actually replied to my e-mail, surprisingly. They are "holding onto my application" and waiting to see how many people accept their offer. It sounds like a wait list to me. I don't get why they couldn't have told me this 3 weeks ago, but there you have it.

Hey guys, just wanted to send you all applying next year an FYI. Somewhere earlier this year we had a discussion on whether or not adcoms look up applicants online. Last week, I was visiting a program. As I was walking toward the director of admission's office, she stopped me in the hall to say hi, and that she recognized me from having looked me up online. I wasn't worried or anything, but I was a little surprised. Just thought you all might like to know!

STILL haven't heard from the department. Just sent ANOTHER e-mail. I'm sure I am rejected at this point, which is fine since I wouldn't accept this offer anyways. But what gives?!?! Just tell me! Is anyone else still waiting to hear from UW??? End of rant.

For anyone else out there who may be waiting on Irvine, I've been told that so far only one person has declined. To get to the waiting list, they'd still need at least 5 more people to decline. They hope to know more within the next few days.

CONGRATS!!! After a great visit to OSU, I have declined fully funded offers from Santa Cruz, Stony Brook, and Rochester. I am still considering Irvine and Riverside and am hoping to have a clear picture after I visit them both next week. Hope those three help some people out!!

Congrats on accepting the offer!! I would have said something, but I just assumed given research interests that it was fairly obvious. Sorry! But yes, it was great meeting all of you. I got a really good feeling from OSU... I felt very comfortable. I am going to visit Riverside and Irvine this upcoming week, and then hopefully I'll be closer to a decision.

This is something that terrifies me as I consider some CA schools... ETA: I currently live about 7 miles from my campus and it takes about 9-11 minutes to get there...
