  1. Yea, I'm still waiting to hear too. I emailed the admissions coordinator last Friday and got no response. What does that mean?? Are we still in the running? Ughh....
  2. sooo is anyone else still waiting to hear?
  3. It must differ by dept. because I got a notification in March that I'm on the wait list for BBSP. Sounds like you're on the unofficial wait list. I'm in the same situation with UVA.
  4. Thanks rvict! That's good advice. I think I will email the one prof I interviewed with and try to get the lowdown
  5. It has been over a month since I received the notification that I am on the waitlist for my top program. Should I reiterate my interest in this program to the Admissions Coordinator? And if so, what should I say? The email mentioned that I may not know the final decision until mid-April.
  6. Yea that's what I heard too. I sent Jeff an email early last week and he never responded so I called him last Friday. He just said that they're hoping to have all responses out by this Friday.... I never thought to ask where on the list I was though.
  7. Funny, I am in the exact same position! I've really been freaking out though cause I have no other admits. I just want to know!!! Good luck and I hope you hear good news soon
  8. Called UNC-BBSP today. Everyone should be notified yes/no by the end of next week. Fingers crossed.....
  9. anyone at the first interview weekend for UNC-CH still waiting to hear?? I'm getting pretty nervous now....
  10. nice thread! i just got wait listed this week, and am feeling pretty depressed, so i'm sure i'll be a frequent visitor
  11. So I decided to email the Graduate Studies Coordinator to find out my chances of an acceptance off of the wait list. Apparently they did things differently this year so she’s not sure. They accepted more than double the spots they have available (I believe 30 for 10 spots) and have a wait list. In the past, they accepted 20 and did not always fill all their spots. So I guess that doesn’t leave me with very good odds. I’m just hoping a lot of people decline this year and I am high on the wait list. I have no other acceptances yet and just found out that my fiancé doesn’t have a chance of getting a residency in NC (my second choice, of course). I feel so hopeless. It’s like all my dreams are slipping right through my hands and I have no way of catching them. Worst part is I won’t know until mid-April. Sorry for the rant, it’s just hard to find people that truly understand your situation. As for cmliu, I am in a similar situation with one of the programs I interviewed at. My guess is that they rank the applicants somehow and then send out acceptances in waves and work their way down according to available spots. But who knows, I could be totally off.
  12. Yea, I suppose there's no way of really knowing... I thought my interviews went really well so I was surprised to hear I was on the wait list. Do you think it's unprofessional to ask what my chances are? All the email said is that it will be awhile before the admissions committee makes it to the wait list people.
  13. Hi, I was just notified today that I am on the wait list for UPenn’s Biology PhD Program. Does anyone have any stats on what the chances are of an acceptance from the wait list? This is my top choice and I am very anxious to hear. Also, is it typical for them to notify you of the decision before you need to let other programs know? Thanks!
  14. I'm contemplating Drexel. I think I'm going to decline the interview.... 4 should be enough
