Still waiting to hear! Did you get emails or check your application randomly?
-
In at GWU too! Still waiting to hear about aid but pretty pleased.
-
I spoke to a friend of mine today (currently in the program) and she said that she got her notification on March 8th. Hopefully they are sticking to the timeline from last year, we may hear tomorrow. Good luck to everyone!
-
email response, sounds generic but a little more waiting involved! "Thank you for your email. We understand that you are eager to obtain a decision on your application and we will work diligently to get decisions out as quickly as possible. You will be notified within the next 10-11 days. Thank you again for your understanding and patience. Please feel free to let us know what other questions we can answer in the meantime."

Well, I've emailed them so I'll wait. Without sounding arrogant, UCSD was my safety so I dont know where I'll be if I dont get an admit there haha

SAIS Class of 2012 career placement report
Pinkman replied to Revolution's topic in Government Affairs Forum
OP, not sure what you're expecting as a median salary. Again, SAIS is a International Relations school which just happens to place very well into the private sector. IMO, $60k+ is reasonable for someone coming from that school. If you're expecting $80-90k as a median, you're looking at the wrong programs. Sorry if this sounds harsh, but judging from your prior posts, you have an unrealistic expectation about what SAIS and HKS will do for you in terms of jobs and salary. -
Question for those accepted, do you know if they're sending out admits via some order i.e alphabetical? Still waiting and its not a good feeling!
-
Astute as most of you are, you're probably aware of it already but the APSIA website have a new list of scholarships so for those unaware, its a good source. http://www.apsia.org/find-fellowships-scholarships/

Like Kadisha said, the smaller class makes the program a whole lot more competitive. In addition, for someone like me with a private sector background mostly, I feel I'm at a disadvantage at a school like SFS (but no harm in trying) because of the caliber of students they attract. SAIS seems more up my alley but I'm just speculating!
-
Exact same boat. SFS might be a little out of my reach but I'm very optimistic about the other schools, including Elliott and SAIS.
-
Thanks! Fingers crossed.
-
Haha, I know what you mean. Any buzz on my phone makes me drop everything! Good luck to everyone.
-
Anxious two weeks now! I think decisions are out sometime next week, judging from last years results page here!
-
Thanks. Just looked, nothing. I'll wait for the email. Congrats again! Any word on funding?
-
Obviously they didnt say the career service sucks but the sense I get is they're helpful but have their limits, much like any school. I think its all about the alumni base to find the right position for you. I dont really want to hijack this thread with SAIS talk so I'll post anything else I hear on the appropriate thread.
-
I asked them and from what I hear, private sector firms do not recruit on-campus. But they hold numerous events on-campus so networking is key and the alumni base is fantastic from what I hear.
-
Just checked..still says under review.
-
Congrats! Havent heard yet myself. Were you an early applicant or by the Jan deadline?
-
I like the program but a friend of mine, who is a rock star compared to me, didnt get any funding so I dont expect to do so. Communication has been better of late but it still leaves a lot to be desired. They screwed up my GRE score, by not attaching to my file and then subsequently chasing me down for it (which I appreciate in the sense that not a lot of schools do that). I'd consider the program if I get decent funding but I'm holding my breath.
-
I dont really understand. I gather you want to work in the private sector so have no real use for an public policy degree. Why not just apply to an MBA program and take policy classes that pique your interest? With the costs involved, I would be EXTREMELY hesitant to take on two degrees, even with the Harvard name. SAIS is a great school, one which I applied to, for the private sector. If you get in there, for me, I see very little point of a further degree just to work in a sector which SAIS should assist with anyway. YMMV

Man, so many people on here are childish. If you have to resort to trolling a admissions forum, you took a few wrong steps along the way. Tom-MPP was clearly a troll. He didnt get admitted to Goldman, he created his account today! Please mods, do something about these people.
-
Perhaps admissions themselves?

How to review for econ / stats / calculus placement tests.

Great post! -
Yeah got that too. I'm assuming there must be another admitted students chat after March 7th. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone!

Thanks for the feedback guys. I had sent the email already. If I get a response, great but otherwise I've amended my resume already so hopefully no harm.
