  1. Is there a Facebook group? Would be great to meet some people before and after Admitted Day..
  2. I'm sure your application will update very soon. Best of luck!
  3. Got in! With 30k! Thanks for the link. Excited but not sure if I'm sold just yet..
  4. Can someone post the link to log into, I cant seem to find it?I havent gotten an email to check my app!
  5. I should probably check with them, because unless the calibre of students is out of this world (which I dont doubt), its a very strange decision.
  6. I got waitlisted. Which I dont mind really but I was accepted last year, with significant aid and I turned it down due to a job offer in Ghana. So I return this application cycle with more experience, better exam scores, stronger LORs and personal statement and I was waitlisted? Confused...really confused. I should have deferred
  7. It doesnt affect it. They usually let you know if something is missing from your app. But do get them in soon after. I'm in the same position, a few days late.
  8. The standard 10% above the maximum so in this case 1100 words. I would suggest cutting it down.
  9. Would anyone care to swap essays for SAIS? Would be delighted to help anyone if they could do the same..
  10. Would anyone care to swap essays for SAIS? Would be delighted to help anyone if they could do the same..
  11. Anyone going? Would love to catch up with some fellow applicants!
  12. Both are really pricey for an online course. I would prefer a community college but I dont live near one and with work commitments, its hard to schedule. Anyone know of a program with a better price? $1500 for a Microecon course is a little steep
  13. I got into Fletcher, SIPA, Chicago Harris with <155 quant but reapplying to get more aid and perhaps HKS too.
  14. For SAIS, it depends on your econ prep. If you have slid grounding in the area, the GRE matters less. However, if there's no evidence of economics or very little, then a middling score in Quant like yours would prob result in a ding. This coming from the Assistant Dean of Admissions. Fletcher is pretty flexible, the strength of the app as a whole matters.
  15. I'm committed to Fletcher, and I'm already considering internships/fellowships in Boston while I'm there. I was just wondering where fellow incoming Fletcher students are looking, if they are, for internships. I've heard its difficult to intern during the year but I would really like to try to juggle my commitments and fit in an internship. Where are the best places to look for/approach?
  16. Also with the MIB program, Fletcher gets plenty of students in the business world. I dont see it being that much more difficult to transition into the private sector following Fletcher as compared to SIPA.
  17. I say go to Fletcher too as another future classmate! Although your reasons are well thought out, I think Fletcher isnt given enough credit for its flexibility of curriculum and the fact that there's an actual capstone for the career minded folk out there instead of a thesis. I think a huge draw is their relationship with Harvard. Having spoken to admissions and current students, you're able to take as many classes as you want at Harvard (beyond the suggested 4 and providing the specified classes at Fletcher itself are taken) to fit your tailored course. So the many different classes at SIPA are almost matched by Fletcher. Plus at a community level, Fletcher is far ahead. Although I can see the draw of NYC, there's always internships over the summer (a friend in the program now is interning with the UN this summer).
  18. That sucks. I just got an email from them offering a High Achiever Fellowship, but I'm still turning it down. Got my sights set on Fletcher.
  19. I asked Fletcher, Elliott and SFS and they said no.
  20. I would only defer if you had a concrete plan as to what you'll be doing.
