  1. Exactly what was communicated to me. Very strange if Kadisha had to interview and submit a GRE score.
  2. Thanks but I never applied to Harvard. Didnt realize I mentioned Harvard!
  3. Thanks. I've emailed them again but havent had a response. Worse case scenario would be that I inform them and they deny admission, which I find highly unlikely. I do agree that they will think I will be in this position until matriculation which is why I wanted to clear up the misconception. Thanks for the feedback guys and best of luck for the upcoming weeks!
  4. It really doesnt matter what your undergrad major was. Most programs are only concerned with the quantitative aspect of your education.
  5. Not to burst any bubbles, as I'm sure you'll get in, I wouldnt read too much into it. Its much like emails being sent for applying to aid, which some students got and others didnt. Predictably out came, 'does this mean I'm accepted?'. A friend of mine received the magazine last year and was not admitted. Sorry to be a downer.
  6. I got the information from Nelson Graves, admissions director at SAIS Bologna. Are you a citizen here?
  7. I doubt it'll have any factor in gaining admission, I just dont want it to have any factor in denying me admission. Any thoughts?
  8. Well yes technically but the company assured me of the job and I was simply waiting for paperwork. Add the fact that I gave my resignation at my prior job (which they were gracious enough to let me withdraw). I listed it on my resume because that was th next move I was going to make. In hindsight, it was presumptuous of me but at the same time, rational because of how everything was panning out.
  9. When I sent across my resumes for my applications, I noted down a position that I was due to start. Unfortunately, that fell through because of some issue at their end. I hadnt thought twice about it because I moved on and was happy in my old job. However, I just realized I noted it down on my resume for the applications. As its too late to send a new one in (asked already), how do you think this will affect me? Obviously I didnt work there but I noted it as something I was due to start as opposed to working there currently. Let it go or be worried?
  10. I think they just allocate a campus to you, not sure about the logistics behind it.
  11. They only interview candidates from outside the US applying to Bologna. Its done in lieu of submitting a GRE score, as most EU students have no experience with standardized tests like the GRE, an interview is used instead. All DC applicants submit a GRE score and none are interviewed. Nason - if you applied to Bologna and are from outside the US, it'd be worth giving admissions a call. The only reason I can think that they did not invite you for an interview is because you didnt note down you're applying to Bologna. I could be wrong but I'd get them on the phone.
  12. Yeah, I noted $25000 but said that was a generous estimate. More likely it'll be less so I made sure to write a brief paragraph explaining my thinking. Hopefully it works.
  13. With the aid form, are you guys definite on your savings and parental contribution? I am not so it'd be OK to put a little note indicating this is an estimate and may change either way depending on the situation at the time? Getting no response from SAIS at the moment!
  14. understatement, you mention that IR/PS has similar job prospects to SAIS, etc. I dont necessarily agree but what kind of careers are open to students in the private sector? I know most dont choose this route but with the quant and language skills gained, most grad should be competitive. I gather SAIS leads the way on this but any thoughts?
  15. Anyone know where the form is? I cant find it online!
  16. Havcent turned it in yet either. On that today.
  17. Didnt get that one. Very early, especially according to their timetable, to communicate with people right? Good sign?
  18. I thought the same until recently. He hasnt responded to my last 3 emails.
  19. I received an email from a student too, which was cool, but I also received emails from students at places like Maxwell and Korbel. The issue was the actual admissions team. I can never get them on the phone, they dont respond to emails and they always seem to be unorganized when I do actually get a response. Having used the search function just now, its a shame to see I'm not the only one. I've relayed these concerns to a student and she mentioned that she had the same experiences when applying but her mind was made up when she met the faculty. Chicago needs to invest in a new admissions dept!
  20. Anyone else just have the worst experience in dealing with them? They dont respond to emails or telephone calls. Incredible.
  21. Got the email, pretty decent resource. Are people applying?
  22. Well places like SAIS say the middle 50% score 158-165 so I think I will be OK but its really the funding aspect. Although, no matter what they say, for middle of the pack students (I mean more in relation to work experience (2 years) not GPA (3.7, which I think is solid especially in a hard major) GRE really matters for aid. Just not sure places like SAIS and Georgetown will give me enough, if I'm admitted that is.
  23. My official scores are delayed a bit so begs the question how much time I have considering I've been a d.o.u.c.h.e. with managing my time between work, a grad diploma and studying for the GRE.
  24. YEah, thanks. A little iffy on my quant score. I got a lot of stats questions, SD, probability, etc and I didnt really budget time for them that well.
