  1. I would call and ask. They are usually very informative over the phone.
  2. Spainbound, I thought on another post you said you were a working attorney? If so I would do the Full Research for a professional and not the stiudent
  3. Posted Today, 09:13 PM Yes, all applicants for the most part will be interviewed in the second round. Once you are recommended, they will compile a short list. This short list will be interviewed. If you are not short listed, than most likely you will not move on. Now that's the UK, as it's very competitive and has many applicants. Some places may only have 1 or 2 people so maybe nobody gets interviewed
  4. First you have to ascertain, are you applying to the Student program or the Research Scholar, two different programs and applications. I did the Scholar things and already had my short listed interview. I was recommended Nov 6th.. Short listed interview Jan 21.. so as you see different from what most in here applied too
  5. My bad, I saw your other post.. Yah CSUN and some of the state schools get a bad rap. CSUN is a commuter school, that's why. I went CSULA so I understand..lol
  6. Are you doing an ETA or Full Research Scholar award?
  7. They come from someone at the US Fulbright...I don't have a PH.D, MA and half way through Doctorate work, but work in the professional sector. I applied and was recommended and recently had my short listed interview. I think the Scholar program works a bit faster..
  8. To those waiting, I applied under the Research award, which was different than most in here. Had my short listed interview today. Tried to prepare for it the best I could, but those I've talked too said it was different. We'll see....
  9. This tweet, I think this family was on house hunters international.. seems the same from Ohio sports medicine and in Rwanda..
  10. . Outstanding academic resume along with your teaching..Good luck!!!!!!
  11. Well,, this could take a bit of time. One, thank you for your good luck, even being short listed I could still not get it. So we'll see. Well I'm in a bit of a different boat, i work full time and used them as my sponsoring affiliation, I work full time there and part time as an adjunct faculty at a University. Thus they all know i applied and if I get it, they are behind me 100 %.. My letters came from two fellow professors and someone i work with. In your shoes, I would look for possibly a law school professor depending on how long its been from your graduation. Maybe a fellow lawyer who does not work with you, someone who could state their position and a bit about you. Maybe a judge whom you have dealt with.. i would look at those three angles. Judges are more then willing to help out. I applied under Research only, but will be expected to do some lecturing. Though, you will have to decide if you will teach more or research more, if its 50/50 I would go under both. If it's like 90/10 like mine, i would go with the 90%. I know a Judge who did a Fulbright and she said there a strong need for teaching of law in other countries. They like the professionals from the US, especially in the law arena. My Affiliation was where i work, for you, you could go independent practicing attorney..I don't think they care so much... They are very use to Academics applying so it's refreshing to them to have a professional apply.. not my words, but what they told me when I called some time ago. Hope this helps....let me know what else you need
  12. Hi, I'm in your boat, I'm not a practicing attorney but have been in the working world for a while. I am currently in the 2014-2015 process, and have been short listed to go to the UK. I have an in country interview 01/21/14. I applied under the Full Research Scholar program, and I went at large. Feel free to ask questions
  13. Lyon and also Paris.. Both nice, Lyon had a better feel, Paris had some great places to visit, and Lyon was equal with the Cathedrals and such..
  14. I think you should hear by Friday. Fulbright is normally exempt from the shutdown. France is nice, spent 8 months there doing research related to what my Fulbright application is now..
  15. Well everyone becomes a mess up to notification time. Good luck!!!!!
  16. I'm a full research grant, already have Masters, received recommendation email Nov 6th and was short listed with an interview Jan 21.
  17. Anybody get any word on any part of the Fulbright? Recommended or Interview? I applied for the Fulbright Research Award and have been short listed with an interview Jan 21..
  18. Well spoke, and thank you. I have three letters one from a university, one from a research institute and one from the police there in the UK. So hopefully all my basis were covered. I read your later post, good luck!!!!!! too bad they don't put there requirements prior in their entirety. Hang in there and I wish you the best of luck!!!!!!!!
  19. You seem to know an awful lot about the process. I'm sure its the same for the Research Award, but once it's sent in country, what is the percentage you think of getting it, or you've heard. The letter they sent me stated at some times they send more then what's allotted and only select a few. As far as studying abroad, I would just apply. I'm sure you will get in. You seem tenacious.
  20. Are you studying abroad now? you seem to have many things going on.
  21. I don't now. Not sure if any besides mine went out. I received mine Nov 6th. Several people stated they have not received an email either way yet.
