  1. sounds like an interesting topic.. I applied to the Fulbright Research award for terrorism. i already received an email of recommendation.. Of course the UK commission may tell me no.. I made the first hurdle.
  2. This was what I received Nov 6th. " It is a pleasure to inform you that the peer review process organized by IIE’s Council for International Exchange of Scholars (CIES) has been completed and that you are among those recommended for a Fulbright research award in United Kingdom. Please know that this peer review process constitutes only the first phase of the rigorous review process Fulbright applicants undergo. CIES will next forward your application to: the United States-United Kingdom Educational Commission in United Kingdom, to the U.S. Department of State and to the J. William Fulbright Foreign Scholarship Board for final consideration. Applications will be reviewed in light of program priorities and budget. Not all applications that were recommended in the peer review process will be selected for grants." This is only the beginning of the letter: The middle discusses things to not do at this stage lie book travel. The letter ends like this: "On behalf of CIES, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on having successfully completed the first stage of the Fulbright review process. Thank you for your interest in the Fulbright Scholar Program and in its important mission, and best wishes for you and your work." Anyways good luck to all
  3. I believe you can send them in after the fact. Just notify your Fulbright person in charge of the one you applied for. I applied for the Scholar/ research award so it may be a bit different then the ETA one
  4. Okay!!! good luck.. I received my email Nov 6th.. I guess I'll just wait it out. I will use the Fulbright award to do my PH.D related to terrorism.. Anyways good luck to you!!!!
  5. Yah I think there was probably some confusion. May I ask have you received an email for recommendation? Last year I see a few people found out by February, so hopefully we'll see
  6. "Well, if they asked you for more documentation you should get on sending it. For the research awards if we make it through the rec process we have to send another round of transcripts, only they have to be official this time. Then you wait....and wait....and wait... You can check the past spreadsheets to find out when others were notified and/or to contact them: " https://docs.google....=sharing#gid=27 Thank you for the response. No additional documentation asked for. I guess it's wait and see if I get shortlisted for an in country interview. Thanks again
  7. Hey: I have been following this blog for a bit now. Recently received e-mail on my recommendation (Nov 6, 2013) to Fulbright Research Award in the UK. Current occupation law enforcement in Los Angeles, mid 30's, MA degree and looking to finishing PH.D at Univ of St. Andrews.. I applied for the Fulbright Scholar Award.. What happens after the first recommendation?
  8. 2013/2014: in an unusual postion, midlevel 12 year cop Master Degree and first year doctoral student, applied for United Kingdom (Scotland), received 3 letters of invitation, public sector(police) and academia (University of St. Andrews). I applied under Police Scholar grant. Not so many people applying..I am wondering how many people apply under this grant. Wondering if there is a spreadsheet to show numbers. Good thing is no Fulbright ever studied in the area applied in the UK and the agency too. We'll see
