  1. I have my interview next week. What do they ask?
  2. But weren't you waitlisted? And if so, could that convert.
  3. This is a pungent question. Dry food is vital for heathy teeth. However, it is critical that is of excellent quality (ie avoid beneful/purina brands which are oversaturated with GM corn). I would recommend the Hills range.
  4. You know what I am petrified of? That the university will rescind their offer. I'm finishing my MA next month and my fear is if I don't get the perfect grad on my thesis, I will be rejected. Am I irrational?
  5. Upvoted to help with sticky downvote fingers! Congrats!
  6. Thanks so much for this information. I saw TAL warnings on the school's website - fortunately, it does not apply in my case.
  7. How long does it take to approve the visa. I have an interview in an couple of weeks. I know on the websites they say, within 60 days. What are people's experiences?
  8. Which realtors or companies are recommendable? Who should I stay away from?
  9. Is anyone entering a PhD program without an MA.
  10. Your questions should be directed to the department. 1. Is there a funding waitlist and is that waitlist ranked? 2. Is funding available and guaranteed for the second year if one is declined funding in the first? 3. Are there any additional cross-university competitive funding opportunities?
  11. Thanks, that's very helpful
  12. Is it possible to set up a US bank account before you arrive? Thanks for all the advice to so far. You are all wonderfully helpful.
  13. So what sort of evidence do I require to prove that I don't intend to stay in the States after I graduate? I have some financial family documents but what are US immigration looking for?
  14. Does any one have any experience looking for and signing up for appartments while you're still abroad? ETA: I'm also bringing my pets as well.
  15. I'd like to add to this post. I am an international and would like advice about how to secure an appartment while being out of the country. I will be unable to attend the university's international and graduate housing as I will be bringing my pets from abroad.
  16. Actually I've been fortunate to meet many Americans. I can genuinely say that all of them were really lovely and curious - except for one ass. But he would have been an ass regardless of his nationality.
  17. Well I kind of did this (except for the corporate bit. But I was getting good money. Gave it up and. Do. Not. Regret. It. ETA: My SOP was so narrow it was sharp. I got positive results everywhere bar one place.
  18. Well, maybe OP just misread the letter in their moment of excitement.
  19. I would like to say that I am so ^&^!?!"£! excited to be doing my PhD. What are you Americans like?
  20. I don't understand why they would offer 24,000pa and only 80 (85) per cent tuition waiver. Surely they would fund the tuition waiver first? That said, I have excellent MA funding albeit in a different country.
  21. Where are you? PM me. Curious. I'm an international but I turned down their offer before funding decisions. Did you get the full 5 years?
  22. Seems straight forward.
  23. Unless your personal history relates some how to your academic area, don't add your life story. It is an Academic Statement of Purpose.
