    Austin, TX

Hey could you PM me her contact details. I am international and want to start looking just to go over in May and sign it. Thank you so much!
  2. http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2012/01/03/top_ten_international_relations_masters_programs might help, MSFS is definetly the best one there (SAIS is good but not sure about Bologna), but money is money and you will be in the same city!
  3. I asked question 4 they didnt manage to answer all they said was our students do summer internships everywhere in the world, so I asked for statistics, they didnt have them!
  4. Even though I am international I do have experience in Albany, a few friends interned for the NY office of representatives there and then in the summer they moved to the DC office, two of them have stayed in the Hill. Therefore I guess living in any state capital you are safe plus the work is a bit more interesting and personal thanin DC.
  5. yes, I had a very easy question Nelson couldnt answer, he said to contact the woman in charge of career services, he even forwarded my email, I then emailed her, and again and again this was 3 weeks ago she never responded
  6. Not nearly as well known both domestically and internationally, the U Penn name carries some weight but the program not while the rest are very well known!
  7. Well I would rule out Fels, from the other two I would say Harris has a stronger domestic policy but GPPI would give you better internships and networking opportunities. personally speaking I do not like how big core classes are at Harris but that might just be a preference.
  8. Nope first year applying and luckily last year applying, I cant comment on domestic but internationally both schools are pretty well known and valued equally!
  9. Where is your undergrad from? If Texas then definetly get out, if not you can stay there!
  10. Yes precisely Im looking for neither, foreign residents of the 180 other countries that do not belong to the EU! Thanks though!
  11. I would say there is a big difference: Columbia university is an ivy which is VERY well known as a great school SIPA or no SIPA people know it and think it is great. This is probably true for all Ivys (perhaps not Brown, dartmouth or cornell but the rest for sure) Chicago, Stanford, then when you start going down the rankings things become messier, NYU and georgetown are well known internationally and thus it is probably true. Hopkins is not that well known other than SAIS and biomed (in fact an IR professor back home didn´t really know about SAIS because Hopkins is not as famous), GWU is even less known just like BU, American and Carnegie Mellon. Hope it helps. Then I would say State Universities, especially well known ones like ASU, UT Austin, Michigan and a few California ones are also well known even if not in the calibre of the Ivys.
  12. Yeah, my issue is more about Bologna. And the internship-job opportunities it offers, hence why I was wondering. I guess I have ruled it out unless their openhouse next week blows my mind away. I just can´t justify spending 60+ per year while Georgetown and Austin gave me great offers!
  13. Any non US or EU internationals considering this school?
  14. nope just going to attend the DC one as I live a lot closer to the US
  15. Im from Mexico so I will stick to Mezcal (same cactus as tequila, lots more alcohol) in here tequila makes you cry, mezcal makes you cheerful, it worked to make a friend happy when she got rejected from all her PhDs. So get some mezcal, cut some oranges and smile!
  16. Im in the same boat, UT Austin with full ride vs 17k a yr from GT, see for those of you who trash on Game theory and math, there are just so many applications of it to real life
  17. My advice is be honest, say how much your savings are and do it only to your first choice!
  18. Don´t think so, why don´t you either create one, or ask Prahbu to do it!
  19. Well it is still 50k a yr even with the increase vs free, but at least now I am considering it, will visit on the openhouse and then decide! What about you LaCanadiense
  20. I wrote to Georgetown explaining how as an international student I wasnt even eligible for loans and how they were my first choice, yesterday I was informed they awarded me 7.5k per year in additional funding!
  21. It does sound like a nice way to transition!
  22. Professor Wang said it will start on the 17th of July
  23. Sorry to say it but I do believe it, I have very high GREs, ok GPA and come from a poor country, yet I got nothing while many from richer countries and lower GREs got 20k. My guess is alumni may give country specific scholarships!
  24. I saw this, I am pretty sure it speaks about all econ courses I have ever taken but still http://www.lbjjournal.com/op-ed/misc/learning-be-critics
