  1. My SOP had 1500 words on the dot too according to MS Word. However, I have 15 years progressive work experience and some doctoral starts and stops that needed to be explained.
  2. Do you have a print out of the screen shot? You may need it, though I'm sure they understand how holiday mail is!
  3. That's great! Enjoy yourself!
  4. Taught the same thing! There is power of life and death in the tongue! We WILL be accepted. We WILL be successful. We WILL graduate. We WILL find great jobs that Impact and Influence the world!
  5. 100% agreed! My blue collar spouse has been nothing but supportive and encouraging! We have a great time together. I have my colleagues for "work speak"! My home is for family, friends, and fellowship. You don't need a degree for that!
  6. You are still a CO resident!
  7. Happy New Year! This is OUR year!
  8. I completely agree! For my ego's sake, I'd like to know I was accepted! At least then the ball is back in my court to make a decision!
  9. I hope you're right!!
  10. Thank you! This was VERY helpful! I will keep looking! (I may wait until March!!)
  11. I think that's why we're all here at this forum. We're planners. We're control-freaks. We have no control. So we commiserate! I have looked at housing, cost of leaving, the IRS rules, process for transferring my hubby's professional license, moving companies, schools for my daughter, cultural festivals, the 2013-2014 academic calendar, gas/parking v. Mass transit prices...I am rerunning out of things to research!!!! AUGHHH! Is it April yet?
  12. If the school is closed, their mail is being held until they open. (Breathe out!!!)
  13. Thanks PhDreams...we have a car, but were thinking about leaving it due to all I hear about parking and having to pay to register car in Mass. Not wise???
  14. I believe you still can claim domicile in CO. Where did you vote?
  15. Any help on cheap housing for a family?
  16. My youngest will be starting Kindergarten, but my husband will still work. I hope she will be resilient to the changes!
  17. 2012 was a HUGE learning year for me! I look forward to new beginnings in 2013!
  18. You get a job... The mall, the grocery store, the car rental place, a restaurant, a gas station...just get a job if you can't find anything in your field to do. Then, you put your big pants/panties on and reapply the next year. Use the time to improve your GRE scores, polish your SOP and essays and maintain relationships for you LORs! It is NOT the end of the world!
  19. I feel so blessed! In my first year of marriage(2006), I enrolled in my first PHD program, while also working full time. He was very supportive. I dropped out because my newly acquired step-daughter was failing middle school and I needed to be a mom first. Now 7 years later, she is graduating and I'm ready to go back. My husband has been great! He is willing to go wherever, whenever!
  20. I hope you're right! I've decided that's what I'll wear to tell people I'm accepted! I know I won't have much other use for a sweatshirt in Florida!
  21. Everyone I say that to, says. Why so long?!?!
  22. Yea! I can post now!

  23. My mom has already bought me a sweatshirt from the school...my app hasn't been there 16 days!!
  24. Will I ever be able to post? :)

  25. I sure wish I would have found this sit months ago! Glad to know there are others out there feeling the same way!
