UT sent an e-mail asking for my transcript, they said the uploaded file is not viewable ? Anyway, I'm frustrated that while I'm waiting impatiently for their decision, they're still "in the process of reviewing my application". It seems that there'll be no end for that.

Upenn has a status check website, you should have a pin number and a username already.

You can say that again. I haven't heard from any schools and it doesn't seem good.

Days are so slow and the fact that I only have Friday as weekend kills me, cuz I have to count the hours on Sat. and Sun. and Monday too, since there is about 8 hours difference between here and the US. So, I have to wait to the evening until I expect to hear from them. So boring !

Hey literature people, as I'm trying to prepare myself, emotionally, for a second round next year, I thought it would be great of those who were lucky enough to get accepted this year to share their experiences and give us a view of what they think was a reason for their success. Would you share your qualifications and/or accomplishments that you think made you a successful applicant to English lit. or Comp. lit programs? Thanks y'all and best of luck

I totally agree, the next two weeks will be crazy.

I contacted them by e-mail and they said that decisions will be sent out next two weeks, this is for Comp. lit. program. I'm really not optimistic about their decision, although at first I thought I'll be one of their top picks. We'll see what happens next week.

ghijklmn, I e-mailed UT and "Billy" replied today saying that they will be notifying the next two weeks, and that "he can't say any further information right now" !!! I guess I'm out and he was just kind enough not to tell me directly

Same here, and I too feel that I'm out of this season. I even started preparing myself for retaking the GRE !!!

So, the Results page has 3 UT-Austin rejections for English today, this is not comforting !

If I didn't get anywhere, I'll be very depressed of course. But I'll surely work more on my GRE and I'll think about taking the subject test if possible. I'll also do my best to write a better writing sample. I don't think I can write a better personal statement, I liked it a lot. While doing this, I'll keep working and saving money for my future plans. I still have hopes for this year though . Wish you all the best too.

I'm so nervous now and I do prefer waiting than hearing bad news Has your application status changed too? I don't even have the courage to check mine. Anyways, I'm so happy for you that you have more than one choice. Best of luck

No news from UT Austin or Upenn comp. lit? When should I expect it?

Hi, do you guys know if international students are more likely to apply to comp. lit. programs? And if so, are they more likely to be admitted? you know, just to make sure that the program be diverse enough? I know that I'm trying to compensate myself, but I have to !!!

Does this apply to international students as well?

I could only afford to apply to 3 schools and I know it's not wise, cuz I'm more likely to have to wait for next year and apply again. If I have enough money, I'd have applied to 6 programs max. I guess, cuz it's not easy to find so many schools that you really like.

Me four. I applied to 2 programs (Upenn and UT Austin), and I totally feel that I don't have a chance at all. And yes I wish I had worked more on my GRE, but it's too late now. I'll be waiting hopefully though.

Hi, I check the Results Search almost daily and I noticed that many of those who get acceptances have published an article or more, or co-authored a book !!!! That made me really worried cuz in my country, only almost-dead people get to publish works. I don't think I can wait that long to get admitted

you're right. I guess your answer is the most or only relevant among all.
