SJSU APPLICANTS: So, just an FYI they are giving priority to people who applied early via CSUMENTOR (which makes sense :-) ) So, If you applied early on CSUMENTOR you'll probably hear back this month....if not, then the wait is on until April :-(...You can also call Molly and she'll let you know the status of your App. ...I applied in January via CSUmentor, so I won't be hearing back until much, much later :-(. O wow really? That sounds like awesome experience to me. I would think it would be great experience especially if you applied for a mental health concentration? Did you apply to UCLA? I think they loooove that kind of experience.....omg this is torture, i cant believe they are already admitting peoples! well at least we can wait in misery together. Thanks for the heads up lol i wont feel too bad now if i don't hear anything positive back. I had NO idea SJSU msw program was this competitive and experience heavy, i would've spent the past year differently ...

uhm kind of...i was a counselor at my school for a few years; and i worked in a foster agency for a few years....but it was volunteer....They preference heavy social work experience don't they?

Oh !! Thanks for clearing that up. So,it makes sense that I got that notice late, as I applied late lol...do you know when we should hear back from them regarding admittance? I was searching this site earlier and I saw people saying they received phone calls in early March (Fall 12)...wonder if that holds true for Fall 13

Hello! I applied to SJSU as well, but pretty late in the game, and yes i received a confirmation that my application had been received. But no confirmations for extra items (e.g LORs)...hope they got em! lol......have you heard anything back yet? My admission status changed to "referred to graduate dept" does anyone know what that even means? thanks!!!! Good luck and congrats all!

Hi all!! I am feeling very insecure about my MSW chances. Can anyone give me some gpa quotes for SJSU or CSUSB??? I only applied to two schools like a loser, and have a 3.5 undergrad...3.7 dept. GPA, i have like 5 years of work experience in the field as well, but its kind of old :-(.. Can anyone help me? Im freaking out! I know my GPA is low, but i went to a top school that wanted to make life ridiculous for me? Does the prestige of undergrad institution even matter when they look at GPA? AHH! Okay, sorry for the long post! Thank you all for reading.... i mean ...if anyone is still reading :-/
