  1. It's very high on my list, but I've promised myself not to rank anything until I get the offers on the table.
  2. Just answered my own question - admitted to Vanderbilt Divinity School with very good funding. MDivs are in the mail officially then.
  3. I'm wondering if the Vandy letters are just for MTS or if the MDiv letters have been mailed as well? Ugh, but congrats on your acceptances!
  4. Hey, at least that program has an ability to check your status...I'm stuck waiting on post for some.
  5. Don't get me wrong; you can still do postcolonialist/feminist hermeneutics, Foucault, and Marx at Duke Div. It's just the atmosphere seemed less open those kind of critiques than I would like if I'm going to spend 3 years there.
  6. In Regards to a VDS Mdiv application status check:
  7. I'd venture because it isn't actually connected to Princeton proper. We talk past one another at Duke. They've embraced their Methodist identity with some Baptist Studies programs, but I'm interested in interfaith dialogue, not interdenominational. Also, I don't feel like my Marxian critiques would be received well there, but hey, that could just be the vibe that I got when I visited. Also, there seemed to be a lot of people there for the Blue Devils' basketball...
  8. I'm just too liberal for them.
  9. At this point, there shouldn't be any phone calls from Vandy since they are reserved for top scholarship recipients. It's all about watching the post now. Also, if and when you get your letter, please post it on here so I can start looking!
  10. I would add my toes to the crossing, but it hurts if you do it for too long, making a week nearly impossible
  11. I just want to hear back from somebody...It's killing me.
  12. Vandy - rolling admissions Candler - should know by March 1st about other funding.
  13. FYI: I'm planning on calling Candler and Vandy to discuss when when the average Joes (not full tuition award-winners) will know more about funding, and, in the case of Vandy, when average-Joes will know about acceptance.
  14. Is anyone else bemoaning the fact that Union, Yale, and Harvard all submit their results in mid-March, later than almost everyone else for MDiv?
  15. Seconded
  16. Because one of my very good friends is applying to some of the same programs as me and getting a lot of the heavy hitter scholarships, I've gotten increasingly more on edge. I feel like I'm a very good applicant, but his successes are kind of getting to me. Oh well, his successes are with programs that weren't the highest on my list, but still...
  17. Lucky for you, it seems that they report their MDiv program's average funding is 80%. However, I understand your frustration.
  18. I'm just a little down over the past few days about how things have worked out. Not insane yet.
  19. The criminal kind?
  20. Correct. It's becoming increasingly obvious that I am very "mainstream"
  21. At this point VDS is probably only sending out its big winner scholarships. I'm fairly confident I'll be accepted, but this reduces my chances of a full tuition scholarship considerably. So, it's premature to worry about acceptances. MDiv here.
  22. Same buddy who got the full tuition to Vandy also got offered full tuition at Candler, with an opportunity to compete for more grant money. Looks like I might as well quit, lol.
  23. It ABSOLUTELY could be postal delay. I live in Tennessee.
  24. Post. It seems that their top candidates are notified much earlier than the rest of their acceptances. Which is starting to indicate that I am not one of their top choices.
  25. One of my good friends just received notice from VDS that he was accepted with a full tuition scholarship for the MDiv program.
