It definitely does. Which is why Union makes my list and not many others' rankings. My name probably tells you I'm into James Hal Cone. In that same vein I'm interested in looking at Niebuhrian Christian realism and what impact it has had on Third World theological development. So, Union was an obvious "top 5" pick for me. I would agree that Drew definitely deserves a look as well. Ah, the MDiv, so much is subjective.

For MDiv programs I think it depends on what one wants in a program. I largely agree with the above poster, however, I would add that Union Theological Seminary continues to offer a strong program, and I would drop Duke off my list. But that's just because I'm a dirty liberal.

I will celebrate with champagne and not caring about my current undergraduate classes. Also, the campus bars will see much more of me.

Schools (generally) give interviews to the applicants they are seriously considering. So, don't think of it as a first cut. Sure it's the first cut that the applicant sees, but in reality it might be the 4th or 5th cut. At least that's what I'm going to let myself believe. Although, the above is correct about not receiving the invitation to an interview as signaling that you will likely not be admitted to that program.

I'm definitely taking a vacation. I will need it.

Also, I remember reading your SoP, Tahuds. I was impressed. I'm sure with what I've learned through your other postings, you'll be selected for your MAR. I'm curious, if you care to PM me, which college in northern Georgia did you go to, if I remember correctly. I have friends at Shorter.

Yeah, but YDS and HDS have given no indication of notifying priority applicants early or any separate consideration for priority filers. They've merely offered a discount. I hope they'll give priority filers more consideration, but I haven't seen anything to make that true.

I'd say that it's more of a money thing. Priority filers save 25 or 50 bucks on the application fees. I wouldn't think they'd receive any more consideration by submitting 2 weeks in advance (unfortunately, since I submitted mine early)

Yeah, I expect a result around 02/8/11 still.

I wonder how that will effect the prompt decisions that Candler normally makes... I was counting on them to give me news about a month in advance of everyone else.
