  1. Bro you definitely misunderstood my tone. I was frustrated with the logic of those students. Nothing to do with you, and neither did the "spoiled rich kids" statement either. People feeling inferior to others because of some sort of social order within the school is ridiculous. That's it plain and simple. If I get admitted and plan to attend I am certainly not going to feel inferior to other students in a different school. I graduated from college at the age of 20. Joined the Army. Earned my American citizenship. I've been to the deserts of Iraq and the mountains of Afghanistan never mind my brief stops in other countries, and I wasn't one of those guys that sit on a big base chowing down on Burger King for a year either. All before the age of 25. Again my problem isn't with you personally. I apologize for making that impression. It's with people not valuing what they have that same people can only dream of. I'd have the same opinion if such a thing existed in any other program. Hell I have the same opinion about people that are living a comfortable life and find a reason to be unhappy. I'm just going to leave it at that, because I'd rather this situation diffuse, especially since apparently we've resorted to typos to show some sort of intellectual superiority.
  2. Are you an international applicant? I know the SFS GHD decisions are out, but as far as I know the Masters of Science in Foreign Service decisions aren't out yet. If I'm mistaken then I guess I'm not in the first batch of emails, because I just logged into applyourself and there's nothing new on there.
  3. You realize you're comparing apples and oranges here. That's what's really absurd about this entire conversation. HKS is not my dream school and neither is it my top choice, but the comparison here is absolutely ridiculous. You want to compare programs then compare them with SAIS or SIPA or SIS etc. If we're going to get into the nitty gritty what is "intelligence" at the end of the day? Let's not forget that the most successful people were college drop outs. If I go to HKS I'm sure I can get into the public or private sector dependent on my field. Sure you can get into government with an HBS degree, but I doubt you're going to hired for certain positions because you have a business degree from Harvard versus a Public Policy and vice versa. If I get a master's degree in Finance and some one else gets a degree in Public Policy and we both apply for a government liaison position or a public relations position who do you think is going to get the job? Again this comparison is absurd. It's spoiled rich kids syndrome. It's not a shot at people that apply to both programs. It's about people that think they're any less because they applied to HKS versus HBS. I'm not interested in the public sector but I'm interested in working WITH the public sector which is why I applied to the MPP program. Honestly I could care less about what the general culture at Harvard is. I care what my future employer is going to think about my time there. If you're going to grad school for the social atmosphere then you must not have had a very good undergrad experience in college.
  4. I still messed up though lol. I put two SIPAs in there. The 5th is suppose to be SAIS MAIA. Same as everybody else. I don't even understand why they made us apply a whole month earlier than everybody else if they're going to take as long. Either way I'm hoping to hear back from GW next Friday if we're to go by past trends.
  5. Talk about not being grateful for what you have. Typical spoiled rich kid mentality in my opinion if we're to go by the stereotypical Harvard attendee. If you apply to HKS (if you're not using the backdoor method to HBS) there is no reason you should be envious of HBS students. Why should you? You're not interested in a business program otherwise you would have applied to HBS. You're interested in government or public service. Maybe the military has made that indifferent to the whining of those that are not grateful for what they have, I don't know. I do know if I do attend HKS, and go to one of those grad parties and some one tries to pull that crap on me I'll politely give him the finger, and that's me being nice.
  6. Yep that was it guys. Sorry if I caused any panic. It still bugs me as to how they name their programs. I mean when you look at it they have an MA and an MAIA program. When I was first looking at them back in September I remember thinking "Master of Arts" in what? And then they have "Master of Arts in International Affairs" . Oh well.. Either way I hope everybody gets a positive decision in the next couple of weeks.
  7. Sure. Have heard from none yet, but they all say they will reply around Mid-March. HKS MPP, SIPA MIA, GU MSFS, GWU MAIA, SIPA MIA That was a lot of acronyms.
  8. Bro. I think you're worrying about this too much. Don't get me wrong I'm always with doing the right and ethical thing. However in this position there's really no point since no one is being harmed. If you mention it in your post-grad resume then it's a completely different issue. I really doubt HKS is keeping a tally of where everyone is currently working, and then they're calling to making sure you work there. The admissions have way better things to worry about than a bullet in your resume. I get Pinkman's positive motives, but the hassle is not worth it in this situation.
  9. Yeah that post was worded weirdly. This wait is starting to get to me. Wish I had a life to distract me from it.
  10. I hope so. I've been in the Army for four years That's odd though. Maybe there was a miscommunication somewhere. I know my interviewer mentioned talking to a Marine so I know it wasn't a mistake.
  11. I'm no expert but I don't think it should be if you've got relevant work experience.
  12. Are you talking about the MIA program? If the admissions office said the 1st of March then we might hear something tomorrow.
  13. BA in Economics and Political Science. Why the question though?
  14. Harvard had the earliest deadline and the simplest application out of all the programs I applied to. I would say that SIPA's was the most complicated, especially with that "educational resume". That's a pain when most of your classes were special topics and you graduated 4 years ago.
  15. Maybe I'm too lazy to follow your conversation thread, but I don't exactly know where you got that information. I am very much in the US, and I have submitted my GRE score, and I have applied to Bologna, AND completed a Skype interview around 2-3 weeks ago.
