Taking into account that UNC-Chapel Hill typially delivers results during the first week of March, would it be impolite to email my POI and ask her about the status of my application? You know... ask her is she sees any chances for me? In our previous correspondence she was VERY kind and a helpful. She even gave me pointers a to how to improve my SOP and agreed to "sponsor" my application (as is required by UNC). But I don't want to be annoying and stuff....

Whyyyyy are Penn State and UNC taking so long !!!

Far more UW-Madison acceptances than I expected This is only making me feel worse about my rejection
-
Congrats, obviousbicycle.... can't say I'm not jealous Only that I've been waitlisted... Do waitlisted people get accepted often there?

on what day of the week are we most likely to receive notifications? i.e., what day of the week do most notifications get sent out? I want to be able to distribute my anxiety levels throughout the week accordingly.

Q: Will I get accepted into UW-Madison this week? A: Better not tell you now. Welp!
-
I applied to the masters program and corresponded with someone I'm interested in working with. She doesn't have funding, but said she'd be willing to be my advisor......
-
I am DYING waiting to hear from UW-Madison :'( Did anyone else apply to Oxford?
-
The masters rejection was so harsh :| I applied to PSU as well and have not received notice from them. Even the status on the application web site hasn't changed. I hope this means good news for me,

UW-Madison sent out an email earlier this week to update on the process... notifications should be sent out during the upcoming weeks, so it's right on schedule according to pohks' list!
-
It was a strange process for me. Some I picked because of a POI. Others, I started out by looking at rankings, and from there selected universities with a decently-sized nature-society research cluster, people doing work on Latin America and/or a strong focus on ANT. Location wasn't that big of a factor for me because regardless of where I get accepted, I'm still going to have to move to another country.
-
Wait listed at U. Minnesota. My POI emailed me after the notification, though, and was very nice and encouraging
-
My interests are human-environment relations, political ecology, feminism and ANT (as theoretical approaches). I'm also interested in the history of science as an analytical framework to study conservation and the environment... However I also applied to an environmental studies program emphasizing in development

Sh*t people say when you are applying to grad school
ProfMoriarty replied to Clou12's topic in Waiting it Out
"You worry too much about this. Just go to the university of life!!" Wonderful life experiences are rewarding, no doubt, but my life choice is to go to grad school, not spend all my parents' money traveling the world. -
Received an email a few hours ago... wait listed :/
-
Hopefully no departments are sending out letters via email today!
-
Congrats!!!
