One more for the UF this fall. Will be moving in with wife and a dog in a couple weeks. Still looking for a place. Have you guys set this up already? Any tips?

Hi y'all! I'll be moving to Gainesville in August, starting my PhD at the DCP school. It will be me, my wife and our dog. We've decided to rent when we arrive at Gainesville, so we are trying to short list our options. Something with 2/2, safe, until 1,500/month. I will have a car, but I would prefer something not isolated from nearby activity. Well, so far some options called our attention: Arlington Square in downtown; Jackson Square in University park/midtown; Campus Lodge and The Windmeadows in the SW area. Haile plantations seems pretty interesting, especially near that 'little downtown' they have. So, anyone could help on this? Opinions/insights about this options? Thanks for any advice!

Ok, so I got accepted to SUNY Buffalo, Texas A&M, University of Florida and Virginia Tech. I am short listing it to UF and VT. Advisors in both UF and VT are great, and although with different educational backgrounds, I can find a good fit for my research interests, which are Cities Resilience and Sustainable Planning. I am from Brazil, so the international approach of UF is great. But I don't really know much about the program rankings, university reputation, and things like that. Does anyone has some inputs about these universities and/or programs? Thanks.

Trying to decide between Virginia Tech and University of Florida for PhD. Both with great initial advisors. Does anyone has an opinion about these programs?

Hi guys! I am deciding between College Station TX (Tamu), Gainesville FL (UF) and Blacksburg. I married, 33 years, and have a dog. I am trying to getter all info I can get from the towns. How do you guys feel about those towns, I am specially concern about my wife, not going crazy in some place with nothing to do... Any married grad student care to share any thoughts? This fall as well. Applied to TAMU, UFL, SUNY Buffalo, Harvard and Columbia. Any decisions guys?
