Usually to grad study and research are all out by now. I was just hopeful one year they'd stick to the intensive grant timeline; that said, I'm sure they have to go through tons of applications so it isn't that shocking to me
There are apparently a number of intensive language grants (separate from the one I am applying to) available for graduate students. My guess is that it is taking longer to get all that done.
If your school is a partner university (listed on the daad website), you would have applied through them and then you would have found out if you are a priority candidate. Apparently it only matters for the graduate student and research grants.
It isn't a few anecdotes. I talked to multiple fellowship advisors. In fact, one person I talked to mentioned that they were told it was closer to 90%, which I didn't buy. And yes, I'm referring to priority candidates.
Sorry guys! I hope you find yourself with other amazing opportunities in the near future.
Hmmm...I wonder if US results are coming out too...So it was an email to your personal email, not via the portal?
I honestly wouldn't. At this point, I don't think it can impact the speed in which we receive results. I would only email/use the portal messenger system if "early April" passes without a response. They are still "on time" if they deliver results this week. However, I imagine we will hear back mid-April, but hopefully I'm wrong and it is sooner.
When I emailed I was told end of March early April. But last year (I sound like a broken record I know) we found out mid April, and they cancelled the May intensive language grant programs and only had people do June start or later. I'm just hoping we don't find out in May haha
