  1. There's Always hope until you get a negatice status! That's my view anyways
  2. Usually to grad study and research are all out by now. I was just hopeful one year they'd stick to the intensive grant timeline; that said, I'm sure they have to go through tons of applications so it isn't that shocking to me
  3. Well friends who are waiting, we are almost out of "early april" which was the end of the given timeline. Looks like it may be mid-april again!
  4. There are apparently a number of intensive language grants (separate from the one I am applying to) available for graduate students. My guess is that it is taking longer to get all that done.
  5. Apparently not. As I don't attend a partner institution, I did not know it impacted only select grants.
  6. If your school is a partner university (listed on the daad website), you would have applied through them and then you would have found out if you are a priority candidate. Apparently it only matters for the graduate student and research grants.
  7. It isn't a few anecdotes. I talked to multiple fellowship advisors. In fact, one person I talked to mentioned that they were told it was closer to 90%, which I didn't buy. And yes, I'm referring to priority candidates.
  8. Oh, I talked to multiple people (applicants and advisors included). If you are recommended, you have a 70% chance of getting the award.
  9. Well if we both end up in Germany
  10. Whoops! Sorry for the misquote. I must have double clicked something hehe
  11. Thanks for sharing. I'm so sorry about your disappointment results.
  12. Sorry guys! I hope you find yourself with other amazing opportunities in the near future. Hmmm...I wonder if US results are coming out too...So it was an email to your personal email, not via the portal?
  13. I would like my acceptance now please....oh well...tomorrow awaits.
  14. That order is my own personal hell. I hate the alphabet.
  15. Have we determined a pattern of if acceptances come before, after, or at the same time as rejections?
  16. Nope
  17. Phew!
  18. Does anyone waiting for the intensive language grant has the subject field populated?
  19. I really wish my university was a partner university. The stats are just so much better.
  20. That makes sense. I like calling because I have an immediate response and I hate waiting (as we all do).
  21. Ah I see. I was told end of march to early april. Have you tried calling? Calling is nice because you have anonymity.
  22. I honestly wouldn't. At this point, I don't think it can impact the speed in which we receive results. I would only email/use the portal messenger system if "early April" passes without a response. They are still "on time" if they deliver results this week. However, I imagine we will hear back mid-April, but hopefully I'm wrong and it is sooner.
  23. When are they not in Maintenance mode ahaha
  24. Absolutely. My friend changed both her program and her university. They just have to approve it.
  25. When I emailed I was told end of March early April. But last year (I sound like a broken record I know) we found out mid April, and they cancelled the May intensive language grant programs and only had people do June start or later. I'm just hoping we don't find out in May haha
