I wish I had wrote a whole new paper! I was taking 3 english classes, working, and applying to many other things as well. So writing a new paper was too much for me! I might be paying for that now.

Condolences for your rejection! But be stoked you have somewhere to go at least! Many of us do not yet.

I'm pretending they don't so I can focus on work. Lol. And besides, so many rejections, at this point I'm not looking forward to more decisions.

I have never had Bristow, but I hear he is one fabulous man and a bit of diva (in a good way!). I have only hear lovely things about him. I know a few people who have him as their thesis advisor. And he is demanding, yet, caring about those who have earned it! I cannot speak to Mellor, or Yenser. There's so many professors here, so it's hard to know them all. But I thought I would have at least had one of your possible advisors. Lol. And super congrats to you davidipse! If either of you have questions about ucla feel free to ask!! It's an awesome place to be. Although of course I'm just a lowly undergrad, so cannot answer specific graduate question. All my TAs have been wonderfully nice people! So all incoming students will have friendly peers.

And congrats academicat!!! I'm incredibly jealous of your acceptance.

Haha, well I'm happy to know that BowTiesAreCool. And Switters, I could not agree more. I am in the exact same boat. Rejected from Duke, and most likely Notre Dame and WashU. A tough two days.

Click view decision! I had no new notifications, but, I have been officially rejected. It actually stings less seeing it in writing, versus just assuming they don't want you. I am grateful to them for being so expedient and not leaving us hanging on. Congratulations you super genius people who got in.

It's okay semicolon! This is the place to get out the frustration. Lol. I think we all feel the sweeping insecurities about our applications when we get rejected somewhere.

Nice! Have you heard from Baylor, I know some people got interviews. We're applying to a couple of the same schools. I'm applying to duke, nyu, brown, vanderbilt, notre dame, michigan Ann Arbor, georgetown, chapel hill, and WashU. Georgetown is a masters. I wish I had picked some "easier" schools as well! Oh well. Lol. Too late now. I have a back up plan at least.

I didn't see the one on the 10th!! I definitely saw the one on the 5th. I'm feeling the hope slip from my greedy little fingers! And the self loathing isn't too far behind. Haha. I would be happy to get into any of the schools I applied to. Seriously, even one acceptance and I would be ecstatic. I just really did not want to start with a rejection! And everyone says to expect that from Duke, but I feel all the programs are just as hard to get into! Dahhh!

Another stupid question. . . To check status we just log into our application right? And it just says submitted with a green check? Or is there a specific place I am supposed to be checking. Not that I got in anyways, lol, but I want to be checking the right place.

It is not so so early according to the results page. I did not see any acceptances to Duke after February 7th! I mean there may be some outliers, but it seems Duke is pretty quick with their decisions! And Horb, I'm hoping to do critical theory and contemporary literature! How about you???

I'm waiting on both NYU and Duke as well. I'm also waiting for Notre Dame and Vanderbilt! All these schools have released around the first week in February, if not earlier, in previous years. I'm soooo nervous. And tired of waiting. I know they are all so incredibly hard to get into though, so it may be a rough start to my decisions. lol. Even worse, the rejections seem to come out later than the acceptances. I'm dying of my obsessive thoughts! I try to distract myself, but it doesn't work. I check the results page numerous times a day to see when those few acceptances start going out. And Horb, I wish you the best of luck. Maybe, in spite of all odds, we'll end up at the same school. But if you get in and I do not, I will assume you stole my spot and hunt you down. Just playing. Here's to waiting in anxiety!
