SLP GRAD SCHOOL HOPES~DREAMS~GUESSES THREAD

So fun to read back through these posts and see how many of you had your hopes and dreams realized! It's amazing to see how much can happen in a matter of a few months! Congratulations on your acceptances, and for those still waiting, hang in there and hold onto those dreams Best wishes everyone! -
@ Chandru1 Utah State University does a post-bachelor program online. If you take a full course load you can complete the classes in one year, or you can space it out to just one class a semester if needed. They request that you have a 3.0 gpa to apply but you can always contact the program advisor Brynne Davies (comd.distance@usu.edu) and ask her any specific questions you have regarding GPA and admittance. It is a great program and is decently priced. Best wishes on your SLP journey! https://comd.usu.edu/htm/distance-education/online-post-bachelors-degree/post-bach-applying/online-post-bach-degree-seeking

NOT EVEN ONE ACCEPTANCE YET? LETS VENT HERE!!

I've noticed that the Idaho acceptances are for the Meridian campus. So if you opted for Pocatello or Online then I don't think they've sent any news out for those options. -

I agree with Sayjo... everyone said that memorizing vocab wouldn't help but I found it DID help me. A lot of study guides have vocab in the back of the book, I went through and highlighted the ones that I didn't know and made flashcards on Quizlet (or there are already sets on Quizlet if you don't want to make your own). When I took the test after studying vocab I raised my Verbal score 5 points Also, follow the Magoosh outline/video for the essay section. I found their advice to be the most helpful. Remember, that when it comes to the essay... LENGTH is key. I tried to make my essay around 5-6 paragraphs long (Intro, 3-4 body/supporting, conclusion). My writing scores were 5.0 first test, 5.5 second test.

@daisynic- I plan to withdraw I just let my school of choice know of my acceptance a few days ago so now I am planning on contacting the other schools this week. UCA just happened to contact me before I contacted them .

@Caterpillar CONGRATULATONS!!! So excited for you both. Conway is a nice area... we've been out there a few times to visit family The campus is good sized but in a small town feel. It is pretty up there as well. Now you have decisions!!!

Just received an acceptance email to the University of Central Arkansas with offer of an assistantship to help pay first year tuition. I will be turning this offer down since I've already accepted another school's offer so hopefully that will open up a spot for someone. Good luck to those who also applied to UCA!!!

Just got accepted (via email) to University of Central Arkansas with offer of an assistantship to help pay first year tuition. Will be declining this offer though because I've already accepted an offer elsewhere. Hopefully this opens a spot for others. Good luck to all those going!

@marina ballerina I preemptively marked one of my schools off as a rejection because I didn't get a required interview, however, I ended up being waitlisted. Huge surprise. Anyway, it isn't over until it's over so don't give up hope yet

For those who applied to or who are familiar with NAU, what are your favorite aspects about their program? What made you decide to apply to NAU?

Stephanie- Don't lose hope yet... I received one waitlist and 4 rejections before I finally received my first acceptance. I applied to 10 schools as well. Best wishes! -

@twinguy7 I actually just got the email yesterday... right when I was in the middle of a tour with my family at the Blue Bell Ice Cream factory (for spring break)... I'm sure I freaked out the other families on the tour with my shouts of excitement, jumping, fist pumps, and near-tears of joy (but I had to open the email as soon as I got it)

@ twinguy7 Bummer about Univ of the Pacific. You still have so many opportunities to hear back and I'm excited to see who will nab you up. I received a series of rejections before I finally was accepted, you just have to keep plugging on until that ONE comes along. It only takes one Love your outlook! Keep us posted!

Is anyone doing their undergrad at UNC-CH and have the inside scoop??? Have they made their way through notifying those accepted and waitlisted? Seems like any news from them (either acceptances, waitlist, rejection) is quite sparse this year.
