  1. Aha! I'll copy paste what I wrote in a message to another poster: I think the Stanford program is great but I thought it constricting to my own professional goals, which are less research oriented and more about program development. In New York my goal is to work in a school in Harlem to learn about literacy while also fundraising big donor contracts with the 501(3) c of the org I work for - I couldn't do either of these things in the Stanford program! I also have a partner and a big network out in NY so personally it is also a good move.
  2. Columbia Teacher's College International Educational Development. Extremely painful trying to make the choice but now that it has been done I feel 3000 times better. And looking forward to fall!
  3. Thanks, again, for in the info wjdavis. I've heard good things about TC but, considering the high-cost and lack of funding, I'm not sure it outweighs other unis just because of its location.
  4. I got into IED master's but no word about funding! Since Stanford offered a scholarship, has a smaller, more intimate program, and I'm not a fan of living in NYC, I'm leaning there. However, my partner lives in NYC, the city has a lot of opportunity, and, as luck would have it, I have a much larger network here than the bay area. I'm currently in the city for work and am hoping to have a conversation with the rep for the program, outlining these concerns and hearing what they say. Thanks for everyone on this thread who input their honest opinions about TC.
  5. Congrats! Which program did you apply for?
  6. I will attend! Also, ICE, background in urban ed, and work for a large international gov-backed NGO. I'm interested in education for human rights and social development.
  7. Yes, of course
  8. I think we can get it reimbursed even if we don't attend ultimately. I will definitely be attending!
  9. OMG OMG OMG I just got my notification letter! In with a scholarship ahhhhhhhhh good luck everyone!
  10. Awesome! Many congrats!
  11. Well, my next few hours are shot waiting to see if my notification comes in...
  12. Wow, they're pretty harsh sending out so many rejections on a Fri afternoon PST.
  13. Oh goodness. *trying to breathe, trying to breathe*
  14. Not it
