  1. People have put up results already (Results Survey section), and they ended interviews at least a week ago. If you haven't heard back at this point, I wouldn't hold out hope.
  2. Just received an "unofficial" acceptance to Harvard SPH for the Doctor of Science degree. They said official notices for most departments will come out tomorrow night and funding information will come out next week.
  3. Update: Harvard Health Policy has been interviewing candidates for the Econ track (unsure about other tracks) for about a week now.
  4. Strange. I never got an invite to interview—just a cold call. Perhaps it has to do with the type of funding? If you end up going to SDSU/UCSD, send me a PM as I'm pretty sure that's where I'm going to end up.
  5. Thanks! I'm very excited. I'm interested in researching interplay of HIV and substance abuse in low-income (international) settings. I'm particularly interested in the SDSU/UCSD program because they do a lot of this work in Mexico and also have James Fowler who does a lot of social network research. I spent about 2 years doing HIV among MSM in New York City—wanted to move to a more international setting.
  6. Just got an informal acceptance from SDSU/UCSD Joint Doctoral Program in Public Health. POI cold called me. Pleasant conversation. Very excited as it's my top choice; however, still waiting to hear back to hear from Harvard and Columbia. GRE: ~1400 GPA: ~3.0 (undergrad), ~3.9 (graduate) Several publications and presentations. Lots of research experience including the last two years full-time at a highly ranked university. Very good fit in terms of research interest.
  7. A couple people on this forum got responses today: http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=680704&page=14
  8. Right there with you. I hope we weren't misinformed. I called them (I caved) but got no answer. I'm pretty sure they recognize my voice or number by now and just don't pick up.
  9. Congrats on Hopkins! Hopkins would have been my number one choice. I really enjoyed the campus and meeting the professors there. It's about halfway through the workday here and still no word from Harvard. I'm tempted to just call them and see if they really are sending out letters today.
  10. They'll send you two emails. One with a username and one with a password and they'll forward you to a website (Oasis) and you check it on the website. As far as funding, some people have said they've reached out to a few people, but most people won't know until March. Good luck everybody.
  11. According to other forums, the admissions office said decisions for SHDH will be sent out tomorrow (Friday 2/26). They won't give out decisions over the phone, but hey--it's less than a day now. If social epi is your interest, I think the department speaks for itself. The Chair of the dept (Kawachi) edited the most used (and cited) social epi textbook. Berkman is a professor there. And there are other seminal professors in the field. However, the greatest appeal for me is that it's Harvard. Not the name itself, but if I want to take a health policy course, I can take it at Kennedy. If I want to take an advanced stats course, I can take it in the applied math department. Etc. Allowing cross-registration with some of the best professors in each field is a huge plus for me.
  12. Word is the decisions have been made by the committee and sent to the admissions office to process. Somebody on another forum called to update their publication list and was told decisions were final and the admissions office would be contacting everybody within the next couple weeks.
  13. I'm applying to Harvard for Social Determinants (ScD program). And... that's it. I'm limited geographically and after speaking with Brown, BU, and UMass Amherst, I decided to just stick with Harvard. I'd rather not get in anywhere than do four years with a program that doesn't match my interests.
