  1. Tornado warnings?? Ok. I know I can handle the snow, but tornadoes? Please tell me they're not frequent.

  4. Cool. That $600 is $600 per person with 3 people living together right? And not $600 for a single person dwelling? Also, how easy is it to get around Medford without a car? Thanks for your help!

  8. Just be honest really. It may not be even necessary to mention that you've been in communication with Prof B before - just talk with Prof A about his or her research and how your interests fit, and if it becomes relevant during the conversation, then you can mention that you were in contact with Prof B before the deadline. Either way I don' think it would hurt you - it's not like you've made a commitment to Prof B before, or s/he made one with you.

  12. Remember to wear nice, comfortable shoes - I'm sure there's going to be a lot of walking involved. The visit confirmation email I got from my department stated I'm not going to be too casual though.

  16. Hey ConventionalWisdumb, It's always best when posting online to assume that whatever you say could be traced back to you. So it's always advisable not to post anything that you could regret later.
  17. The brazen part is that the unions have agreed to the concessions about reduced benefits, yet Walker still wants to do away with ending collective bargaining. It sure seems like a naked political play in this case.
  18. Yep. It's incredibly frustrating. It makes what's a difficult and challenging process seem trivial, which ultimately makes it seem less impressive if you do get in and makes it seem much, much worse if you don't.
  19. Woot! Great birthday present! Congratulations!
  20. Well done. Thanks - it brightened my day for sure.
  21. Very nice! Made me smile for sure. You did the animation too?
  22. Congratulation! It's a great feeling isn't it?
  23. I don't think it's rude to ask, but you should do so in the framework of asking how to improve your application. If you had some contact with a POI before application then it's perfectly ok to ask what you can do to improve your app for next year. If you didn't have any contact before application, then you could still ask - probably the department admissions people.
  24. Likewise - all the info I've received is from the department and Wolverine Access hasn't been updated as yet for me. I think I read on Rackham's website that they take up to 10 business days after receiving notification from the department to send out the official decision.
