  1. Congrats to those that got interviews from Columbia! Would you mind sharing either here or on the results page if (1) the email was a generic one from the Ad-com or if it came from a specific POI, and (2) what sub-field you're applying to. Many thanks
  2. Research assistant! I'm surprised this hasn't been mentioned yet...
  3. Yay for interdisciplinary -- I love it that we get to talk to people with such differnt backgrounds! I'm doing decision making research in a human factors lab, with undergrad degrees in psychology and information systems. Most of the programs I'm applying to are in traditional psych, with a couple from cognitive science and org behavior -- realize the profs I'm interested in are all over the place, which made applying rather difficult because they all had different requirements.
  4. Yesss! I'm expecting a similar timeline but still hold my breath in anticipation when I check my email every morning.
  5. Took it once. Aimed for 1400 and got a 1390, so I spent some time agonizing over the decision to retake because I was sure I could up my quant score. Finally decided that it was probably not worth the effort and money and just left it as that. Didn't take the psych GRE either and I initially thought this would limit my range of schools. However, I soon realized that most of the places with a good fit didn't require it, and there was only one program which needed it. Turns out that my POI there asked me to apply anyway (and I'm getting an interview ), and that they have accepted people who didn't take the subject test, so I'm really glad I didn't bother with the psych test now.
  6. I think you should be fine, especially if you've self-reported the scores somewhere in the app. From what I read on other threads, it seems that most places will take what you report in good faith and won't trash your app if one or maybe two minor things are missing (like 1 rec letter, or official transcripts or GRE scores).
  7. I'm already so jumpy that the first thing I think of when I awake is to check my email just in case I get an early response, even when I know it's the holidays. When my alarm clock rings, I'll press snooze and immediately turn on my laptop. By the next snooze (5 min), I can login to windows, and by the third snooze, open my internet browser to check my email. It's such an automatic process that I can do this when I'm half asleep!
  8. Decision making! In mostly cognitive psychology, with some quantitative psych and cognitive science programs.
