  1. i swear you recommend GVS for everyone haha
  2. http://forum.thegradcafe.com/topic/68570-canadian-applying-to-us-speech-language-pathology-programs/
  3. not sure where youre applying to but im guessing SLP? then 3 academics is better in my opinion. audio is kinda not 'really' related so i think 3 csd would be strongest
  4. did anyone figure out where to add misc documents, resume or awards or leadership?
  5. i know CSDCAS allows for 2 majors, but ORPAS doesnt. as buggy as CSDCAS is right now it seems to include a lot more details than ORPAS
  6. anyone else kinda annoyed that orpas has no space for awards or leadership..? or i cant find it...? i mean im putting the leadership under volunteering right now, but its asking for site population characteristics... not impressed with the way this is organized right now. unless ofcourse i just simply cant find it
  7. Ive been putting no URL available
  8. did you try athbasca? they got a lot of courses, one of them might be it
  9. ORPAS is finally open! and I already have a question. For the pre req forms, any idea what the heck the URL is for? I was able to find one URL for a couse syllabus for one of my courses... but no course websites for any of them. Any idea what comment or URL theyre looking for?
  10. does it ask for a resume? if it doesnt ask, then dont include it.
  11. So what I heard from my faculty on the ad com is that some of them will read the first 3 (your top 3) and the skip the other 2. And some of them said they will read all 5 because they all have something to contribute. So I would get more than 3 only if the other 2 are strong enough that if they're read they will add to your admissions package. If the other 2 are trepid I feel like it will be more damaging rather than helpful. My 2 cents.
  12. Unless there's a specification (and there usually is. Try emailing ) I would keep it 3000 characters. I think that's about 500 words
  13. my grades in first 2 years sucked and the grades in my last 2 years are fantastic. i was told not to mention the grades unless i was sure i could spin it in a good/ flattering way. a lot of people told me not to do it. so i wont be including it. dealers choice though, i mean it could be damaging if written wrong, or it could help your overall persona stand out.
  14. no gre central oklahomatexas state universitycalifornia state - east bayloma lindanova southeastern mercy college west texas a and mbritish columbia brooklyn?california state fullerton thats my last update, ignore the colors
  15. good idea, i'll look into that, thanks
  16. well he would be one of the 2 academic ones and the third will be an SLP I have been working with. Or do you think that he should be the 3rd one, leaving the Slp out entirely and the first 2 should be professors of some of my courses....?
  17. I thought I had this one in the bag however someone mentioned to me that they will be not be asking our research supervisor for a letter because they have not taken a course with him. i have been working 9 months now with a professor who is on the admissions committee of my top choice grad school. Tell me Im not crazy and thats a good choice for a rec letter? i know the prof wont be able to read the letter, however it is a better choice than just to ask a professor who knows me right?
  18. im pretty sure a lot of the people in slp want the school aged children. i cant know for sure, but ive worked with a lot of slps, mostly in a school setting. those who work with the elderly population, also have a school setting during the day, etc it shouldnt be a problem you should do more research on the particular area you live in though, just to be sure
  19. i dont see how your freshman year should just tank your chances. i think (in my humble opinion) that you are doing just fine for that not to ruin your academic career cheers
  20. cant say about the other things, but ASL will not. theres not a lot of ASL use in SLP.
  21. its hard to say. some schools have a gre and gpa cut off. in those schools u wont be able to get in but some schools look at the overall application, i think in those schools you have a pretty good chance. i would look for schools who take a holistic approach to admissions.
  22. The 2016 application will be open later in October. Please continue to check our website for updates. still no proper answer
