I'm okay without calling. I'm going to assume I didnt make the shortlist. I already have one acceptance and one shortlist which I thought was a long shot. I feel pretty good about this round regardless with what happens from now on.
BNS do you happen to know how many folks where shortlisted and if they have all been contacted?
I've heard that Chicago received up to 300 applications which means lots of great candidates get passed over even ones who've been in touch with faculty.
I'v been "recommended for acceptance into the Graduate Program in the Department of Anthropology at the University of California, Santa Barbara". However, I havent been official approved by the Graduate Division yet. Anyone one have any clue if this is simply a formality? How often does a department accept someone and than have the bureaucrats kibosh it?
Another week begins and hopefully we will all be receiving some good news, some offers, some spots, some fantastic funding packages. How is everyone holding up?
You haven't been rejected which is a good sign. You could be on a wait list or they are still figuring out their acceptances and you made it past the first cut.
I have a skype chat with folks from UCSB tomorrow. I think interview is to formal of a description. I think I've reverted back to my normal emotionally deadened self. I feel numb. No adrenalin rush this time.
