Temple, Temple, Temple! They are my first choice, and I'd do just about anything to go there. I have applied to four schools and am waiting on others if the other four don't pan out. They are Temple (shocking, I know), UMass Amherst, Tufts, and UF. GW isn't due for the MA until April 1, so if I don't get in to Temple in the next few weeks then I'll go ahead and submit my application. I guess if nothing works out I'll just apply to Florida Atlantic and just get all As and apply for my PhD later.

Hi everyone. I applied to GW, Tufts, UMass Amherst, UF, and Temple for my MA. However, the head of the dept at Temple, my first choice, told me to apply for the PhD because it is my ultimate goal. Has anyone heard anything from Temple yet, MA or PhD? Who have you contacted for potential advisers? Good luck, all!

I have applied to five schools for my MA in history (US, 1945-present, focusing on women and war, gender, and the effects of the Cold War/Vietnam war on American culture). I applied to Temple, GW, UMass Amherst, Tufts, and UF. If I got my pick *fingers crossed that I get in to one, never mind having a choice* I would most likely go to Temple. Philly is a great location for American history, and the department's strength's are my interest areas. I've spoken to the head of the department and he seemed to think I'd be a good fit, as well as a potential adviser who commented that my ug research was interesting and well in-line with the department. But, you know, I'm not picky. I just want my Masters then PhD!

I applied for my PhD in history, without an MA, to Temple. I was told by various people that if they don't think I'm ready they will just put me in the MA program. Either way, has anyone else heard from Temple's history dept? The online application status just says it is submitted. I hate waiting! Good luck to everyone!
