Apparently Florida state is now releasing results, according to the results page. Saw a couple acceptances to "Religion, Ethics, and Philosophy"--I don't know enough about that school to know if that indicates their philosophy department in general is releasing results or not.
His books are amazing, and what a brilliant insight into the inner workings of logical and mathematical systems. Really brilliant at constructing the picture and making the beauty of these systems clear. GEB is especially good at that--plus it has some great material on paradoxes which I absolutely love. I read an article recently wherein the writer was discussing how the basic concepts of multivariable logic actually appear in Buddhist texts, and how those ways of approaching certain paradoxes or questions which we think are uniquely 20th century philosophical creations are actually not. The writer did a good job of constructing what the logical language of Buddhism would look like.
Found the article!
I have to add, read the first few chapters of "Godel, Escher, Bach: The Eternal Golden Braid" by Douglas Hofstadter. I learned more about the development of logical systems from this book than I could have ever imagined.
A lot of drugs, mostly.
Actually, a lot of the current work is in quantum theory and the relations between quantum mechanics and relativistic effects using Lorentz-transformations equations. It's really cool stuff! Combined with my background in philosophical logic, it mostly means I'm really good at confusing my students.

Hi, I'm a new person
waves
I haven't had any nightmares per se, however I have woken up in several cold sweats panicking about whether or not I remembered to send in the correct copies of whatever-damn-piece-of-paper-that-was or somesuch.
This is not good for my heart.
I'm desperately wanting this process to be over now. Good, bad--doesn't matter. Just over.
