  1. Did you apply for Advanced Standing or Regular? I applied for Regular. I hope I'm in the next wave of admits! Lol I'm a bit scared because you got your email the day I inquired about where they were in the process. I'll probably be a nervous wreck until I hear something. Congrats!
  2. When did you submit your application? I applied in January for the Edwards Campus. I'm hoping I'll hear something soon!
  3. Out of 368 MSW candidates (Advanced Standing and Regular), surely I can't be the only one here. I did see a PHD acceptance on the results today. So, anyone waiting with me?
  4. How long have you felt this way? Have you seen anyone about it? It sounds like you are suffering from depression. So I hope, that, if this statement is true, you will seek help. You're not alone. We are here for you.
  5. I essentially got a generic response as well. Mid-March to late April, not saying where they were at as far as applications by month, just regular pool. What worried me though was she had to look up my info to email me since I only left my phone number in the message. Not sure if that is good or bad. I haven't bothered them about it before, so I'm hoping I didn't annoy them. I replied back with gratitude and thanked her for her quick reply. Ugh. Now I feel like I'll be one of the last to know.
  6. I finally caved in and left a message to see where they are at in reviewing applications ( submission month, mine was in January). I have so much going on that even just knowing when they will be looking at January apps will ease some stress. We are in the process of moving to a new home and have so much going on, I feel ready to have my head pop! I hope they call me back soon. I was scared to ask. I tried asking graduate admissions about portal updates but she said each department does things different and I should just ask, it happens all the time. I bet my message sounded ridiculous. Oh well!
  7. Haven't really gotten any answers about timeline or if they update their portal to say under review or anything. Finally gave up and lett a message asking what month of applications they are reviewing so I have an idea since im in the process of moving homes and don't want to miss any notices. I think I'm losing it.
  8. Another Financial Aid email stating I meet or exceed their Satifactory Academic Progress Standards for Financial aid. Um, ok. Well at least that department tells people things in a timely manner! I swear my head is going to explode checking the portal and my email and waiting for push notifications.
  9. Well, financial aid at least got my FAFSA. I can check my awards at the end of March by logging on with my student ID.... That doesn't yet exist. On a good note a saw a blue bird today, supposed to be good luck. Please lord let that be a sign.
  10. I can't stop checking. I know I'll be notified by email, but I'm so sick of waiting. My life is moving all sorts of directions right now and I really don't have the time to sit around and try to plan around an unknown. It's pissing me off, like I don't have other things to do with my time than wait and obsess over this crap. Ugh.
  11. Although I know I probably won't hear anything for another week or so, I am damn tired of waiting. Hurry up KU! UGH
  12. Thanks for this thread since we are now in this boat. I'm not exactly excited about our 18+ month geo separation to get Masters degrees simultaneously but hopefully all goes as planned and we will be happier than ever afterward. (Like MidwesternAloha, my husband is Military too and he is being sent to grad school in CA while I'm waiting for my decision here in KS)
  13. I can't believe I just took up an entire page with my replies. Apparently, I need a life.
  14. I'm sorry, x 5: 1 cutesy kid, 4 crazy, cutesy, lazy and neurotic pugs.
  15. Hahaha. My mother does this. When we visit each other I try hard to go out to eat with her instead of home so other noises will distract me. Otherwise I end up staring at her and tell her that she has "overly masticated and to swallow already!" It drives me nuts!
  16. I felt exactly the same way until I met my husband. Before that I never even wanted kids, ever. Then at age 28 I suddenly felt my biological clock kick in to overdrive. When we got married and started actively trying to have a baby, my maternal instincts kicked in. I had our son at 31 and turned 32 two months later. He will be 7 next month and I am already over the incessant questioning kid phase and would rather have him be a baby again. Lol!
  17. I completely understand. Sometimes one of the saving grace perks for me of being in a military family is not having other family issues constantly staring me in the face anymore. I recieved my BA a year late for undergrad because of incompletes I had to take in my senior year to handle the health and mental health issues surrounding my parents.
  18. I just bit my tongue trying not to laugh and wake up my son! Rofl
  19. Well, at least they let you know and didn't leave you on pins and needles hearing nothing for another 20+ days ... But really, it's too close to call? They need three more weeks to determine who to keep? Is this your top choice? ETA: just saw your response. Unless my heart was set on Seattle, I think I'd be a bit put off by being told they need three more weeks to decide if you're worth keeping. My opinion of course.
  20. I think your unique position may allow for it, given you will be able to devote the time needed to study and write papers. Have you lived at the house as an undergrad? Do you know what to expect of the sorority members during evening hours and if it will affect your ability to devote the hours needed to your coursework? That is what you need to determine and if you think you can manage it then I say go for it. Only you know your true capabilities. Good luck!
  21. Do you have a top choice?
  22. By the way. It went fine and I did get to speak with faculty and staff in the Social Welfare program, got a lot of information and questions answered. They just started reviewing regular MSW applicants from the date apps were received ( October - Feb, mine was submitted in January) and I should know something sometime in March, no later than April.
  23. We are stationed at Leavenworth now as my husband is an FA49 at TRAC. He is getting first look for MAJ so we will see what happens with ILE if he is picked up. He is going to try to PCS back here since he won't even get to finish his initial ORSA assignment. Believe it or not we love it here!
  24. As if applying to grad school and waiting for a decision wasn't enough; my active duty Army husband was selected to go to the Naval Postgraduate School this summer through the Army ACS program and we are now waiting for his official acceptance, buying a house where we are locally , moving off post here and preparing for him to move to CA without us for 18 months this June. After we take a planned family trip to Disney. Oh and my dad just had a brain tumor removed, is in criminal litigation with his sister and mother over lies they told and my Aunt through marriage has bone and lung cancer. To top it off, my husband has to get ready for a promotion board and take the GRE at the end of March and study for it while we move. We are stressed to the max!
